Planners, timelines, oh my :)

Meghan, on April 23, 2021 at 8:54 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hi everyone! I was looking at wedding planning planners and templates, but couldn’t find one that had what I was really looking for. I was thinking of creating a document that would include a nice layout of planning with tips, areas to write, time lines, etc. I was wondering what you would find helpful in a planner or wish you had to help you with your wedding planning?

Loved mine! I’m having a very low key wedding and having a binder gave me so much flexibility!
I've heard there are online templates you can get too, so buying a plain binder and designing your own is a reasonable route too. Planners, timelines, oh my :) 1

Check out Google docs. It has an entire wedding planning template that looks quite comprehensive.

I flipped through a number of books and binders before deciding on one. Planners, timelines, oh my :) 2
I chose this one because I liked the tips and the worksheets meshed well with how I approach planning. Lots of space to write down ideas and inspiration but also enough guiding questions and structure to be useful. There are multiple real wedding budget examples from $20k down to $5k (since that is who this book is marketed towards) that show dollar amounts as well as the percent of the overall budget for each expense. Also provides good 12 month and 6 month timeliness for planning.

My FH has also thumbed through the book when I am not around so I think having it in paper form made him feel more comfortable looking at wedding planning advice rather than him searching it out online.

I chose The Complete Wedding Planner from Amazon. I found pictures of all the pages and I loved it. I loved that it had space in the beginning for brain storming your ideas and your partners ideas. It has pockets between each section for additional information. A blank calendar you can fill in yourself for important dates. It has a guest list where you can track who you’ve invited as well as enough space for tracking venues you like. I love having it in person so I can physically write in it as well. That helps solidify it in my brain.
