Planning a wedding when you don’t like most of your family.. Help!

You can absolutely invite (and not invite) whomever you want to your wedding (provided you are paying for the whole thing yourself). You can also plan another party later to celebrate again and invite (or not invite) whomever you want. But what you can't control is whose feelings will get hurt, and your plans may result in hurt feelings.

So, as long as you know what you and your future spouse really want, move forward with your planning, with confidence. But when/if you hear about/encounter hurt or upset feelings, just accept that those people have the right to feel how they feel. Let them feel their feelings and try not to let that affect you.

You can invite anyone you want. Many people do not have relationships with their relatives and are much closer to their friends. Ignore anyone pressuring you into inviting anyone you are not super close to.
