Use the monthly planning checklists from wedding wire and the knot! I also really liked the knot's ultimate wedding planner book/binder as a starting point. You and your fiance should first figure out a budget and estimated guest count. At that point, you can then start looking into venues and caterers and move down the list

I am using the tools that the Wedding Wire has. But what is the knot. I have never heard of that. Is it easier then using the Wedding Wire.

The Knot and Zola are just a few other popular wedding planning websites. I use all the tools on Wedding Wire, but if you look through the discussions, you'll find that people tend to use Wedding Wire for the forums and use The Knot for the planning tools and their wedding site. Wedding Wire does have several glitches throughout, but I haven't found any of them to be anything major.

Here is the planner I was referring to in case you're interested: https://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Wedding-Planner-Organizer-binder/dp/0770433367/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2RAWZQ7EBGNG8&dchild=1&keywords=the+knot+wedding+planner+and+organizer&qid=1612039315&sprefix=the+knot+%2Caps%2C210&sr=8-3

I love WW for these forums but I’ve seen too many couples have issues with their domains they purchased through here. I’ve stuck with The Knot as far as planning. Sit down with your fiancé & discuss budget & guest list.

You should pick the date and colors first along with the theme. From there plan on a bugdet and then start looking at things on pintrest that you like. Weddings get expensive fast so really think about what will create the most impact but easy on the budget. Just remember to use this app because it is really helpful. At the end of the day, it is about you and your spouse.

Hi Tiffani! I used two lists (The Knot and Martha Stewart Wedding). I printed the Martha Stewart one and placed in my binder. I would start with creating a binder to hold all your contracts, receipts, etc. I had folder tags in my physical binder for venue, hair salon, florist, wedding cake, etc. hope this helps!! ❤️

Google Sheets has an entire wedding planning packet of lists to keep you on track. They can be access from your phone or printed out to make a DIY planning binder. You dont need the extras that the published books give you. Just put pocket protectors in a 3 ring binder to hold paint chips for colors, fabric swatches, receipts/contracts/brochures, along with spreadsheet printouts. That's really all you need for a fraction of the cost.

Also most suggest using withjoy.com or wix.com and rsvpify.com for your guests to reply to.
WW is really only useful for forums and vendor reviews.
Eventective.com is a good starting place to find venues.

We wrote out a guest list, then we picked our date. I went i a bridal show and started researching vendors. We set a budget and visited venues. Make a wedding email and give it to all vendors or potential vendors. It keeps everything easily accessible and the junk out of tour every day mail.

There’s a checklist on here and there a bunch on Pinterest too. Just tackle little bits at a time. It will get overwhelming or frustrating at times. Try and stay calm and work through it.

HAHA DONT FEEL BAD GIRL MINE IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. IT'S FUNNY WHEN YOU DREAM ABOUT THIS DAY YOUR WHOLE LIFE AND THE TIME FINALLY ARRIVES TO START PLANNING AND YOU CAN'T 'SEE' WHAT THAT DAY LOOKS LIKE ANYMORE. LOL

I STARTED BY PICKING THE VENUE. AFTER I NAILED THAT DOWN I SENT OUT SAVE THE DATE CARDS AND WENT TO WORK ON GETTING MY DJ AND CAKE. THEN I NAILED DOWN THE FOOD AND DRINKS. ALL OF THE IMPORTANT PIECES ARE NOW DONE. NOW I CAN FOCUS ON WHAT THIS SPECIAL DAY WILL 'LOOK LIKE'. IM WORKING ON TABLE SET UPS AND COLORS NOW. THE HARDEST PART FOR ME IS THE THEME AND ACCENT COLORS. LOL AND TABLE CENTERPIECES. PINTREST CAN'T POSSIBL PROVIDE ME WITH ENOUGH IDEAS LOL.

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!

It's so overwhelming!!! You'll narrow things down and everything will be beautiful.
Break it down into chunks. Not everything needs to be done at the same time. First thing you need to do, which is the least fun, is figure out your guest count and budget. That will help determine your venue choices. Once your venue is decided it can help sort out a lot of the other decisions like date, color scheme, wedding dress, decor, etc. Some places will be beautiful on their own and not need a ton of decor, others might need a lot.
The best thing I ever did was create an email account specifically for wedding stuff. Emails from your vendors, contacts etc will all be in one place and easy to find and organize.
One last piece of advice, follow your instincts. If you don't have a good feeling about a vendor, don't book them regardless if they're a good price or have good reviews.Good luck. Enjoy the planning!

I had a whole Pinterest board dedicated to my 'future wedding' and it was very little help when I actually got engaged and started planning my real wedding lol. The first place to start would definitely be setting a budget after you get your budget set STICK TO IT weddings can get so expensive sooo fast. After the budget is set you'll want to pick a date or at least have an idea of time of the year/or specific month, venue and then you can go from there! Also going to venue open houses and bridal shows helped me a lot!
