Planning fatigue

Kyra, on February 5, 2021 at 9:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hi Ladies! Need some direction; we sat down and started budget planning; our goal: 10k. Our outcome 20k. We are homeowners already & yes my wedding is in 2023 but with all this Covid & the possibility of the world not being the same even after we are all vaccinated I’m just not feeling this traditional wedding stuff any more, you feel me ?? SO Here is the idea: An Adventure Elopement, has any one done this? If so:

1. Where did you go I’m based out of RI we are looking in the surrounding area. - I am between mountains or water scenery ( we are boat owners LOL)
some of my guest may be on the older side so how could I get the mountain scenery with our killing our grandparents ??
2. I am thinking Max 20 guests. Did you do this? If so what did you do for the day with your guests ?
3 We are looking for an extended stay with the guest like a weekened. I would love for some ideas for that as well, if we were to leave RI.
4. Did you guys still have the typical father daughter, mother son dance ? If so how?
5. What did you do for food? I’m not big on catering? But I know I will need to supply food for the weekend if we leave RI.
Sorry for so many questions all ideas are appreciated TIA 💗

    1. Where did you go: we are going to qn east coast city and exchanging vows outside in downtown area.

    2. I am thinking Max 20 guests. Did you do this? If so what did you do for the day with your guests ? No, we will be having zero guests. Only a photographer will be present.

No, my dad won't be present.

    5. What did you do for food? My husband and I will be going out to eat at a restaurant (outside dining).

Hi Kyra! I think an adventure elopement sounds amazing!! The photos alone will be worth it! 🤩

Here are some elopement photos that have been shared in the forums you should check out for inspiration:

Jessica's Breathtaking Mr. Baker Adventure Elopement ⛰️

Nicole's Breathtaking Yosemite Wedding Shoot ⛰️

Megan's Perfectly Personal Elopement in San Juan National Forest 🏞️

    Gina's Amazing California Elopement 🌊

    Liz's Last-Minute Wonderful Waterfall Elopement 🏞️

    AmberLynn's Amazing Autumn Elopement 🍁

    Breann's Beautiful Washington Elopement 💐

It sounds like the perfect plan for you is a micro destination wedding with an elopement feel!! I'd search for inns and B&Bs in a naturally beautiful area, so you have easy access to a gorgeous ceremony site and a place for your guests to stay and congregate!

You could do the ceremony off-property, but come back to the inn/B&B for a small reception. You could set up an elegant meal and do the traditional dances and cake cutting! Smiley ring

I'd also make sure to do some scouting on your ceremony site to find a place that has easy access for your older guests! Wood River, Block Island, and Lincoln Woods State Park are all worth checking out.
