Planning Milestones: Pre-wedding Events

Courtney, on July 8, 2019 at 4:46 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 16

We all know there's more to a wedding then just the ceremony and reception? What are you doing to celebrate early with your family and friends? Did you have an engagement party? Will you have a bridal shower?

We plan on having a BBQ this summer for all of our bridal party and their significant others to meet one another and have a fun day together that's not wedding related.

We got engaged in Sept 2018. I had an initial party with my bridesmaids a month later when I asked them to be my bridesmaids. It was the first time I could see them after getting engaged.

We had an engagement party with close family and friends in January, it is both of our birth months and after all the holidays.

My bridal shower is in 2 weeks, I am so excited!

We will have our Bachelor and Bachelorette parties in August with our BMs and GMs.

And last but not least we will be having a rehearsal dinner 2 days before the wedding.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

I also had a dinner out with my girls after asking them at Christmas- we waited until after the holidays as well. Since a couple hadn't met each other yet, I thought it would be a fun way to catch up.

We're also combining my shower and bachelorette into the same weekend- my birthday weekend- to make scheduling easier on everyone.

Two of my girls have kids, with one living over an hour away, and the upcoming holidays at the point I thought it was best to make one weekend out of it.

The plan is to have the shower, then to regroup at my house to decompress and get ready. They already know I'm treating to the hotel as a thank you. But what they don't know is that I'm also treating to an UberX to get us downtown so that no one has to drive.

We had an engagement party about a month after! We waited because it was a really busy time for both of us. My bridal shower is July 28 and the wedding shower is July 19. I don't know what's planned for either, but they should be fun!

Im hosting a bbq this Saturday to announce our engagement. We got engaged in March & started wedding planning in june, but we haven’t really told anyone. We will be handing out our save the dates this weekend, i guess we can consider it an engagement party too. I dont plan on having a bridal shower, but will have a low key bachelorette party

I will be having no pre-wedding plains. Most of my friends are stay at home moms who won’t go out unless it’s to a story time event at the local library or the conservatory/botanical gardens.
I’m also extremely shy and hate being the center of attention.

We had a nice dinner out with the parents to celebrate our engagement- it was during the holidays so we didn't want to make a big deal out of it.

We're having a BBQ too next month for our bridal party and their significant others. We thought it would be a fun way for everyone to mingle and not have it be wedding related.

I hate being the center of attention so we didn’t have an engagement party. We’ll have a bridal shower but that’s about the only pre-wedding festivity that’s planned!
