Mask requirements are a deal breaker for any location.
So we are looking for locations for a much smaller wedding and celebration that does not require

Exactly, I wish nothing but the best for all of us planning a wedding. Nothing but best wishes that everything can turn out the way we originally planned for our special day. We all deserve that special dream wedding. But at the end of the day this covid isn't going anywhere anytime soon. And as much as we all deserve that special day, I just want to remind everyone just how fragile life can be, and you don't always know the state a loved ones health is in, your loved ones might not even know how their health is, you might have a family member who comes to your wedding thinking they are fine and then next thing you know they are struggling to live because they got covid and they actually have a health condition the doctors didn't catch yet. I don't want any of you wonderful people having to look at those wedding photos in regret because you lost a loved one because you didn't want to follow guidelines because how it would look in pictures.

    Agreed 100% here.

I didn't want to spend a ton of money on an event that wasn't what we wanted, but putting loved ones (and even strangers) at risk was just not a consideration for us. So we got married anyway, and will have our big celebration when there is a vaccine or other circumstances make it possible for us all to party safely again.

I get it, our governor is very strict with many things, but we feel if we have to provide masks then so be it as we've already sunk money into this wedding & we want to hold it that day. Thus far, there's nothing in our own contracts mentioning masks since we signed it an entire year in advance & we don't know what things will look like in July. I don't think anything you sign will mention that part as health guidance & ordnances change all the time and they wouldn't even know what will happen by the time your wedding comes around.

I understand it can be stressful, but there's absolutely no use in worrying about something that you have no control over & can easily change within months. We're planning as is unless we're given different instructions. If we have to cancel then we'll elope and postpone the entire thing for another year.

We're getting married October 2021 in NJ and if masks are required then I guess so be it but our wedding will be a Halloween costume ball so we just incorporate the masks into it and make it cool plus a lot of the pictures can be socially distanced so we can do them without masks.
