Planning the Bridal Shower

Jocelyn, on May 13, 2019 at 9:42 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9

Hello all!

I am planning my best friends bridal shower & my sisters bridal shower at the same time. I've got my sisters shower all said and done BUT I need ideas for my best friend. I am a little stretched thin for money, I live an entire state away from her and well family said they would only help with buying pizza for the shower... soo im kinda on my own here and of course I want to make her marriage/bridal/bachelorette experience a good one haha. I was wondering does anyone have any good ideas for bridal shower favors without breaking the bank? She picked car racing theme for her wedding/shower so im trying to stick with that. I did go out and get black/white checkered decor for her but im lacking on the favor end and maybe any good bridal shower game ideas?

I figured i'd ask because everyone was so helpful with my wedding planning, Thank you so much!

Horse racing or car racing? You could do a fun game about which of the two (bff or their FS) was the first to cross the 'finish line' of certain relationship milestones? Like a trivia game.

As far as favors, if you are a decent baker, bake some checkerboard cookies and put them in little bags as a favor.

I honestly don't think you need a favor. But maybe something like a koozie or wine stopper? Party City online makes favors for less than $1 each.

Honestly not having a favor was a thought, but I do not want to seem like i didn't try to make her bridal shower special for her. I'm not sure if she would be hurt thinking that her shower was planned poorly or maybe she won't think that.

I'd check out Party City online then! Or go to your local Dollar Store, and see. Usually they have things like candles, glassware, sunglasses, etc. so you may be able to find something cute & cheap!

Bridal shower did happen and on my part came together nicely. Her mother ended up getting a cake as well as Pizza. I ended up making hand lotions for the favors with my mom and creating a label called "Hand Lube" with racing stripes hoping it would catch on as a type of "grease" kinda? it did. she loved them! We actually ended up doing the bachelorette party the night before.. which she planned as her mother pressured her into it due to me being an entire state away. So I was unable to plan that part for her.
The Wedding was this last Saturday she said she had an amazing time. However there were major hiccups; due to being so hot the cake had fell over (4 tier cake) and the woman patched it with edible racing stripes which didn't look the best but made the cake look whole again (still was yummy!). The photographer came late and left early but still charge her for the full 6 hours. The DJ only had Rap/Mixed songs on his playlist and resorted to playing though youtube so we listened to ad's.. oh and the big kicker the helper that the DJ brought along, My friend believes he stole all the money from her Dollar dance... she caught him upstairs by the bridal room but could not prove he took the money as she didn't find out until later. She is a pretty relaxed woman and didn't let any of that bother her on her special day. Overall she said it was still the best day of her life.
