Most people would say the planning doesn't start until after the proposal - but that doesn't seem to be the case with millennials! Maybe it's because we're waiting longer to tie the knot, but two out of three millennials take at least one wedding planning action before getting engaged.

Did you get a head start on your wedding planning? Or did you stick to the traditional planning timeline of waiting for an official engagement first?

Mostly traditional. I didnt start planning until after we were engaged, but I decided at 6 years old that I wanted to wear my Grandma's dress and stuck with that so I already had it, but didnt start altering it for me until after we were engaged (I also didnt ask family if they minded me changing it until I had the ring).

Traditional. I've had an idea of what I've wanted but we didn't start actually making decision and buying things until we got engaged.

Definitely modern. We decided that we wanted to get married in October of 2019 back in August of 2018. He didn't officially propose until December of 2018 though. He was in the middle of changing jobs and had to wait a couple months to get the ring. I had already booked and payed for our venue by that point. HAHA! It is what it is. We've known for a long time that we want to spend the rest of our lives together, so it was really just making It official for us.

Modern, I basically had everything planned before i even got the ring. We worked on a lot of it together, but it was all preliminary stuff, scouting venues, picking colors. Here we are almost a year after the proposal with still nothing glued down (: sometimes its like that!

I definitely got a head start. Although things have changed DRASTICALLY, it was still nice dreaming about it. Now, I have someone who was part of the NEW PLAN and actually voiced his thoughts and opinions (somewhat) we're at a really good place and all the planning is pretty much done! Still got 2 years left before the big day. UGH!

Traditional... we didn’t start planning anything until we got engaged... and it was “soft” planning, full scale planning started a year and a half later

Traditional mostly. I of course had a Pinterest board but we didn't look at anything or even plan a wedding party until we were officially engaged.

Traditional. I mean I had looked a dresses occasionally but absolutely nothing was set in stone until after I was engaged.

I'd say traditional. I had a wedding pinterest board, but it was primarily from when I was helping my mom plan her wedding and old stuff from when I was engaged for about six months at 19 and called it off.

Modern I’d say! I started looking up venues and pricing before we were engaged because I knew it was coming and was trying to make a plan for money needed!

Modern. We booked the venue together, and I bought my dress the day he proposed. Surprise proposal, so I had no idea.
