Hi fellow brides and brides-to-be! Our wedding isn't until next May but so far I have booked our venue for the ceremony and reception, our caterer, and our photographer just to get an idea of how much money I have to spend. I'm getting a lot of snarky comments from people saying that I'm planning too early. I'm not sure if it's because I'm overly sensitive or that they're right. I think I'm just anxious about the whole thing. I have a very strict budget and by planning this sixteen months early I feel like I have a better idea of how much I want to save every month. Any thoughts or comments?

I don’t think it’s to early my date is 9.18.21 and we got engaged 9.30.19 I’ve already started picking colors and flowers small stuff so far... this year so far I’ve started contacting venues and florist just so I can have a ballpark idea of what we are going to spend!! Once me and my husband can agree on a venue that fits both our taste I plan to book.. I set a personal goal to book my venue within the next 3 months if possible ! I don’t think it’s ever to early to plan anything. Our wedding day is the most important day everything needs to be perfect the earlier the better !!

Our wedding isn’t until September 2021 and we already started planning too! I have been dreaming of planning this wedding for years and now it’s finally happening. Spreading the planning out is giving us more time and less stress!

I don’t think you’re planning too early at all! I got engaged 1-1-2019 and our wedding is 8-21-21 and I’ve been planning since I got engaged. Do what’s best for you! People will always have an opinion.

For me, I only worry that the vendors will fall through and run off with my money or I would be planning like you. I think it is smart to know where and what you want on your special day. As far as other people it's your money and just remember everyone has an opinion. Congratulations!!

It’s never too early! Start when you want and enjoy it! With my bridesmaids picking out a dress was crazy and I had some saying there’s plenty of time and others wanting to know right away so they could save money. Everyone’s different do what you want! And enjoy the entire ride, it’ll be here before you know it

We got engaged July 2019 & plan to get married 4/3/21. We toured 5 venues in September 2019 & booked the same month. The date we chose is popular & since we live 2.5 hrs away, we jumped at the venue we fell in love with. I just knew that the sooner we locked a venue, the better off I would feel. I'm even getting my dress this April but not doing the alterations until next February since I am in the process of losing weight. Do what makes you comfortable & plan at your pace!

Oh my goodness, I dont think there is anything wrong with what you're going. We got engaged in August 2019 and we have booked our venue and are getting ready to book everything you listed! Theres nothing wrong with exploring your options early because you get first pick because the availability of the vendors are more open! If your vendors are accepting reservations, you're certainly not too early.

I think its smart to have the big things done!

Congratulations! This is YOUR day, so plan in advance as much as you want! We got engaged January 10, 2020, we are getting married October of 2021 and we already have pretty much all of the details ironed out. This is an exciting time, so don’t let anyone take that away from you. Plan your little heart out! 💕💍💕

This will be my 2nd wedding, so we are going non-traditional with a small ceremony @ The Flamingo Las Vegas (which is where we are staying as well). It's never too early to plan!, especially if you want to know how much things are going to cost and how much to save Smiley smile That's what we did! I got engaged New Years Day 2019 and our wedding isn't until March 2021 - so we've been engaged for 1 year already but we started looking at venues that summer and booked ours in July, then booked the photographer, DJ, and videographer a few months after that. We just booked our caterer a few weeks ago. People don't realize how far in advance vendors book, so the earlier the better

Now we have a game plan of what we need to do for the next 11 months. You're doing great!

You are definitely not planning too early!! I am the same way I was planning everything early, good vendors book so quickly. I booked my photographer and Videographer over 2 years in advence, my venue is booked all the way till 2022. People were telling me I plan way too early but you know what, idc what they say i just smiled at them and walked away. Nobody is going to tell me when and how to plan my wedding, it's your wedding and you do what you want Smiley smile

My wedding isnt until October 2021 and Im trying to book a venue by the end of March. I think the sooner you book the more time you have to pay over time. This way I can budget better and not have to worry about spending a whole lot of money in just a couple of months. I think you are doing great!

That’s actually the smart way to go about doing things. Just in case something happens and that way you already have everything set in place for your wedding. It’s never too early to plan. My wedding was supposed to be in October of this year but I’ve changed it to 2021 to and my fiancé time to save and have the wedding we want. Because I don’t want to rush to have a wedding and it’s only one day when the true focus is on the marriage which is a lifetime 😉♥️♾

Luckily for those judging, it's not their wedding! I've joked with my friends - am I going to be bored since I've planned so much?? We got engaged in October 2019 and will get married in June 2021 - I've already booked venue, caterer, cake, photog, videographer, hair, and makeup. I already know what I'm doing for invites and have other little details planned as well! I knew, like you, I needed to have all of the numbers in front of me early to continue to plan and stick to a budget.
