Planning your own bachelorette party?

Has anyone ever planned their own bachelorette party? Is this a bad thing? I love my MOH and my sisters (bridesmaids) but I can't imagine them actually planning the party. I don't want drunken night out. I actually would really like to have a nice calm night. Maybe a paint night or a wooden sign...

I don't want drunken night out. I actually would really like to have a nice calm night. Maybe a paint night or a wooden sign making night like the pic below so I can use it as my guest book. I'd just like to spend some quality time with them and my mom and maybe a couple more friends. (Also what is the etiquette on inviting friends that aren't in the wedding party?)
Should I just tell my MOH what I'd like? Or should I try to plan it.
Aso I Live across the country from them so it'd have to be done during the week I visit or if I plan another trip home.

I'm planning my own bachelor party right now, since all of my groomsmen are coming internationally. The only one who's familiar with Sydney is my brother, and he can be kind of flippant sometimes - I know if I asked, he'd just say "I don't know, plan it yourself. I've got a baby and a job to deal with".

The biggest annoyance is that the place I want to host it at is impossible to get ahold of. They call me at the most inopportune times, never leave a message, never email, and never answer when I call back. Everything else should be pretty straightforward.

I'm planning mine WITH my bridesmaids - we're all working together to create a fun girl's night. I don't see the problem with it? Especially since it's not a gift-giving ordeal. I was in a wedding 2 years ago and that bride planned the whole thing with her cousin. 🤷‍♀️ You do what you're comfortable with. I doubt anyone is going to get an invite and think "wow, she's throwing her own bachelorette party, how rude!" Lol.
