Planning

Frustration through the roof!!! So we booked our venue a little over 2 years ago, postponed from June 2021. Scheduled for this June. I called the venue this morning just to check in on capacity, limitations, due to COVID etc... Come to find out the current coordinator will be leaving in May and she’ll have a replacement. Okay but this will be the 5th different coordinator. And now this new one will only be starting 1 month before our wedding. I wish I could get a refund of my $2500 deposit, I would look for a new venue. How am I supposed to work with yet another coordinator 1 month before our day. Like I haven’t had enough stress over. Sorry just needed to vent!

Have you considered hiring a planner/DOC outside of what your venue offers? Or are you just worried about the venue itself?

I have hired a doc, thank God we put up the extra money. It’s just the venue not knowing the ins and outs. What one coordinator has said okay too the next says it’s against policy. And so on. Maybe I’m over thinking, just stressed out.

Get everything in writing or in a contract from the current coordinator! That way, if the new one says you can't, you can show them what was agreed upon prior to their arrival.

I like Meghan's idea to get everything in writing and maybe have a meeting with Your coordinator and your venue coordinator to make sure your on the same page

It’s all very frustrating. And yes I agree it doesn’t seem like it gives your planner enough time to coordinate everything. I think you should ask for a refund personally. I also signed my venue contract before Covid happened. I personally feel that any bride who signs their contract before Covid should be allowed to get a refund of whatever money that they have spent whether it be the deposit or what not. We entered into agreements and signed contracts and now the vendors/venues are not fulfilling their own contracts. That should be an automatic refund in my opinion.

It really sucks our venue had three so far so we used a professional coordinator from our company and everything has been a breeze!

Ugh. We had two wedding events and while coordinators also changed, we lost the one at our local reception TWO WEEKS before our event. You'll get through it but it IS so stressful. 😫 🤗
