Planning???

Justice, on June 1, 2021 at 6:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello!

I am new to this app and newly engaged! I am getting married February of 2023 which is kind of far away... when is a good time to start planning? I’ve got my wedding venue and it’s mainly all inclusive, I’m feeling a little bit bummed because my wedding is so far. Any advice??

I think you could start asking venues now if they're booking for 2023 yet. A lot of places are already fully booked for 2022, so you don't want to stall. Congratulations!

Thank you!! We have our venue just waiting to put the deposit until I’m 100% sure!

I would keep looking at venues so that you’re 100% confident when you put down the deposit.

We went with out gut on our venue and I’m so glad we did. I’ve been following the one that was our close second and seeing pictures now that I don’t love. Follow them on social media and learn what your must have pictures are at the venue or angles you don’t want the photographer to capture of the space.
My date is closer than yours, but since our venue is all inclusive as well I’m in the same boat. This is how I’m spending my time since there isn’t much to plan right now.

I started planning our wedding about 2 years out (and then it got postponed, so it turns out it was really 2 1/2 years out lol). Venue was the first thing we booked. After that, I started researching the other big ticket vendors like photographer, DJ, and florist (and caterer if you need one, ours is included in our venue) and reached out to a few I liked. This also allowed me to make an accurate budget. Some of them were happy to book a year and a half out, and others asked me to reach back out in a few months which was fine. There are definitely some things you can work on!

If you haven't already, you can start making pinterest boards and etsy wishlists of things you like for colors, decor, invitation styles, dresses, hair, etc. That will keep you in the planning mood even if you aren't ready to actually buy anything yet!
