Plastic cups- suggestions on how many to get?

Brigit, on March 25, 2015 at 9:44 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6

I have found some good prices on www.webstaurantstore.com for nice Fineline Plastic cups. I was planning on getting Fineline 1 piece wine glasses (8oz), one piece champagne flutes, as well as 9 oz tumblers.

The Tumblers and the wine glasses come in cases of 240 and the champagne flutes come in cases of 96.

my wedding will be done by 9:30 or 10 we need to have been done serving alcohol by 10pm.

we are providing our own Beer and Wine with signature drinks.

i am only inviting 96 people (including 4 kids) so 92 adults , do you think that the 480 cups would be enough? i can get solo cups as back up

With 480 cups thats 5 cups per person

ETA: Cocktail hour starts at 4- so thats 5 1/2 hrs or 6hrs for the reception

People usually get a new glass each time they get another drink (soft or alcoholic) -- especially if you have a bartender. I think they may have more than 1 drink per hour, so 5 glasses per person may not be enough.

My caterer is providing water glasses so those are set, but i didn't think of sodas too. i guess i can get another case of tumblers

ETA: I was thinking that since beer would be in bottles/ cans that they wouldn't necessarily get a cup for the beer.

Are you serving all drinks (sodas, waters) in the cans or bottles? If not, I would just get more than 1 case to be on the safe side. I am ordering from webstaurant, too and getting more than we need. Not sure if I am serving sodas in cans and water in the bottles.

My caterer has pitchers to refill the water glasses, soda would be from the bar and they would need cups.
