Plastic Cups

Lynsey, on May 16, 2014 at 3:49 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I'm having 200-250 guests at my wedding. I'm serving beer and wine and need to know how many plastic wine cups I will need for my guests? I already bought the beer cups, just not sure on the wine glasses. We are more of a beer drinker group, but don't want to run out of wine glasses either. Thanks for all your help!

I think the at least 4 is a good suggestion to start with. You may want to take into account later in the night when people start setting their drinks down and leaving them...as the bride you will be doing this often as you get pulled in different directions. You can't go wrong over buying and taking Back any unopened packages

At least four of each. I wouldn't bother getting the two piece footed plastic wine glasses; they cost a lot more and they are too easy to tip over.

I asked this question a few weeks ago....I am hoping whatever I buy I can return what I do not use. I am so upset we cannot use real glass because then we could get by with less.

I would suggest looking in to renting real glassware. I was going to get the plastic cups, but by the time I factored in how many cups we'd have to buy to provide for each serving, it was almost the same price as renting. When you rent real glassware, a lot of people will reuse their glass so you don't have to plan one glass for every serving.

If you do go with plastic, I think 4 cups per person should suffice.

@Celia, thanks! I'm a "glass snob" and don't like drinking drinks out of the wrong glass - particularly wine. But I see your point with the plastic wine glasses. I didn't even think of that, but it makes perfect sense. Gonna find some cute plastic cups instead.

I found good plastic wineglasses at Smart & Final. They were one piece instead of the kind you have to put together.

Most venues wont allow glass anymore except for dinner; tea, water, etc. Once dinner is over they pull ALL glassware, which is why I'm asking about plastic cups.

    Thanks for all your input!

I ordered a lot of stuff from websturaunt. Com. I'm pretty sure I saw plastic cups on there and they usually have great prices! But to answer your question I think planning ob 3 or 4 per person would work!
