So, we are having a shabby chic wedding in October. I was planning on just using plastic tablecloths on the guest tables, but I cannot decide. I would really like to use real maroon linen napkins though. Would this look odd with the plastic tablecloth?

I plan on having ivory table covers, kraft paper table runner with real cloth dollies on top. For the centerpiece I am having a piece of slab wood with a lantern and a jar of flowers.

What do you guys think about the plastic/linen combo? Should I just shell out the extra money to get all linen?

    Plastic would definitely be tacky.

Linen. Alway linen. There's a piece of linen for every wedding aesthetic.

Linen. I had someone telling me we should use the plastic rolls to save money, but I feel like that would look like a little kids birthday party. I will definitely be using linen.

No plastic. Maybe check out smartyhadaparty for their linens. I'm going to check my vendors rental prices but I will still be ordering some of my linens through them.

Please, please, please use some type of real fabric tablecloth. You can get cheapie linens for a couple of bucks per table. Those don't look super great, either, but they are infinitely better than the roll of plastic thing. That is only appropriate for the most casual outdoor community type get-togethers.

Plastic table cloths do not say wedding to me. To me, they say picnic. A plain white table cloth would do just fine in this case.

I like the look of a white linen tablecloth with a kraft paper runner. I picture a lot of greenery in the centerpieces.

I would go all linen... plastic is so tacky in my opinion. Cool for cook outs and summer parties but for a wedding? Not so much!
