Plasticware?

We are getting married next month outside in the mountains. Our caterer provides paper products for the BBQ we are having. I don't like paper plates. I thought of renting some China. But then again, it's BBQ. What do you guys think about the plastic plates? They're a little more sturdy than paper....

But then again, it's BBQ. What do you guys think about the plastic plates? They're a little more sturdy than paper. But is that tacky?? It would be so easy to have something disposable. As our venue doesn't have an actual kitchen. And anything besides disposable, we would have to rinse somehow.

My caterer is providing plastic ware for plates and silverware. Sure, China would be nice, but using plastic is a great money saver to still provide a positive experience for those in attendance! The colors are neutral and the plates are relatively durable, so it should work out just fine from what I've read.

They have such cute things! I can't wait to throw a summer party using their fancy plasticware.

We used the same exact plates as @Soon2B Mrs Shuey ! Our wedding was in the White Mountain National Forest so they fit in perfectly. For the plasticware we used the reflections plastic silverware.

We bought both the plates and silverware at www.webstaurantstore.com

Just ordered these today from amazon. They're recyclable AND reusable. I was leaning towards more eco friendly, but they were more expensive. We plan on keeping them for other family parties so they won't just be thrown away Smiley smile

If you are going to do plasticware, definitely get the good stuff - especially for BBQ, you don't want any sagging or leaking plates! There are "real look" plasticware at Party City as someone else suggested. But no matter what, definitely do REAL silverware!

I am having BBQ at my wedding too! There is this BBQ restaurant in Washington, DC called "Hill Country BBQ" and they have this really cool butcher paper. My fiance and I considered putting personalized butcher paper over a plate or serving boat. Here is the website: http://www.custompackagingandproducts.com/products/custom-printed-butcher-paper-sheets-rolls/

It would go nicely with your BBQ and would play into that aesthetic.
