Please tell me what i am forgetting...

Samantha, on March 24, 2021 at 6:56 PM Posted in Planning 3 11

We are 98 days away - whoa. And I feel like I am forgetting stuff. I want to have everything planned and purchased and "finished" by at least two weeks before the wedding. We have all of the "big stuff" (photographer, caterer, dress, etc.) done - but I feel like I am forgetting the little details and personal touches... help? What are some little details that are at-risk of being overlooked or forgotten? Items that people have forgotten to purchase until last minute?

My wedding planner has reminded me of little details that I would have never remembered ha I not been told!

Mine may be completely different than yours, but this is a list of things I have a reminder set to take care of a month or two from of the wedding-

Mani/Pedi appointments for myself and bridal party - Spray tan appointments - List of songs for DJ - Playlist for the morning of the wedding, while the girls are getting ready - My personal jewelry/accessories - Hotel block confirmations - Packing for honeymoon - Final payments to any vendor not paid for - Getaway car - Sparklers (or whatever send off you're doing)

If you have pets, one thing to confirm is that you have arranged care for them!

This was a rant, but just ideas!

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of brain explosion I was hoping for!

Definitely did not have the "What are you going to do with the dogs while you have 30-40 strangers at your house?" on the list. Now it is!

Must be the week after me! I’m 93 days away. I feel all set but still have little stuff to do. Paint a sign, wrap my wisteria for my arbor etc.... postponed from last year so I feel like the At Last should be my theme song. Lol. Good Luck with the last 3 months!

We are July 1! We are having a micro wedding, and got engaged last May. Because it was always going to be such a small event instead of a big production of a wedding, I didn't feel like it was going to take as much planning...but now that we are three months out, I am finding myself having a lot of "ah crap! I forgot about _________!"

One thing I did to not forget anything was go through each area of the day (attire/getting ready for everyone, arrival of guests, ceremony, reception) and I made notecards of each area with my vision of exactly what it looks like, then taped the notecard to a page in my notebook and listed everything needed for that area to make my vision happen. It totally helped to not forget things.
I do realize how antiquated this particular process may seem but I am a pen and paper person when it comes to most things. I need the pleasure of crossing it off my list.

This is a genius system! I am a teacher - pen and paper processes are my jam. Thank you!

Double sided tape is something we wish we had while getting ready. Also we had scissors and they came in very handy.
Make sure you check in with your vendors the last month and maybe even 2 weeks before your wedding. This doesn’t happen to everyone, but our DJ passed away before our wedding. I had just emailed him like a week before so thought we were good. We found out 2 weeks before. It was very stressful, but it worked out fine. But stuff does happen and, for me with hindsight, it would make me feel better with just a quick check in that they are well (not sick, on bed rest, something didn’t pop up unexpectedly)
Take time to relax. Schedule a massage, get your nails done, have a glass of wine, put wedding stuff down. The last week before our wedding I was nervous and stressed with so much going on. I was student teaching and couldn’t take time off for me to relax it was not good.
