Pocket folds and inner envelopes

Beth, on July 5, 2013 at 4:24 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

If you did pocket folds, did you do inner envelopes? If not, where did you write the stuff that goes on the inner envelopes?

What exactly goes on the inner envelope that couldn't go on the outer? I'm asking b/c I honestly don't know! I'm doing pocket folds but no inner envelope... more paper and cost

Inner envelope is usually the casual name of the invitee. Ie: if the invite is addressed to your grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Smith, the inner envelope would say "Nana and Papa" but they are not required at all. It's just a very formal way to do things Smiley smile

I am not inviting kids, so I guess that's why it's a little bit of a bigger deal for me.

The pocket fold takes the place of the inner envelope, imo. It would look very strange to put a pocket fold in an inner envelope.

I also have pocket folds. Do you have a specific addressing question?

If you aren't inviting kids, then it's actually easier for you. Simply address it to: Mr. & Mrs. Smith or to Ms. Smith and Guest

Mostly on the facebook page! :-)

I guess I just want to be clear about who exactly is invited. I think I am going to put a little tag on the inside.

I really loved the pocket folds too, but I was like you and only wanted to print out the main invite and rsvp so I went with the petal folds.

I have pocket folds as well, and only had the main envelope. Oh, and the RSVP (inside the pocket folds of course). I think it will be a whole lot of paper. My pocket folds have 4 inserts and an RSVP envelope. Its super thick.. Definitely gonna cost me extra postage.. So I can only imagine with an additional envelope... Also, my invites are really hard to pull out of the envelope. I am taking the time to gently pull each one out.. (I don't want any rhinestones getting snagged or anything ripping)... So, its a lot to take into consideration IMO.

Oh, got off the question, sorry! Since its just names, Im leaving room on the RSVP cards for them to put their name the way the would like it on the place card...

Hmm I played with pocket folds today and made a prototype for what I might want to do. What sucks is I can't post a picture from my phone and I'm already in bed.

Sadly my etiquitte will be easy since all kids are invited. There aren't a whole lot and I really want a sweet picture of a few girls playing with the puffy tulle on my skirt! Love that picture on pinterest!

Thus I am not too much help. I have found though a combination between a "folding" cover and an inner envelope that I like a lot. I really want to have a simple outside with flat lace and a ribbon tie, the inside can be anything. There are lots of possibilities so don't hold yourself to the standard pocketfold.

I think most people treat the pocketfold as a substitute for an inner envelope. And what would go on the inner envelope if you had one can just go on the outer envelope. For example, if you were inviting children, and had an inner envelope, the outer envelope would be addressed only to the parents, but you'd include the children's names on the inner envelope. But if you don't have an inner envelope, you would include the children's names on the outer envelope.

We do pocketfolds all the time. Most brides do not use an extra inner envelope. Outer envelopes for addressing. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Is it considered in bad taste to write and guest on the outside envelope?.My daughter is using pocket invitations without inside envelopes, and has a lot of unmarried friends that will be invited to the wedding. If they are in a long term relationship we want to invite their significant other, but we don't want the wedding used as date night.

    Thanks!
