I went to a wedding where they did a photo booth strip guestbook, the booth printed out two copies of each strip and guests kept one and you put the second in the guestbook with a message. It was super cute but I think they said a lot of people didn't realize it was supposed to be the guestbook, so I'd say if you do it make sure you advertise it so people participate!!

We're doing what FutureMrs said. It's not going to be our guestbook, but a nice token. I like the idea of doing it as a guestbook, though!

Make sure you have enough film for everyone to take home a picture too! I'm also thinking about doing a Polaroid guest book and that's the only thing I've come up with that might be a problem. I like the photo booth though!

We are! We have a frame that we will use as a seating chart and the guests are requested to find their names and replace it with a Polaroid picture. Our venue places the seating chart near the cocktail hour location so people can grab this and take their picture during the hour and not right before they go in for the reception.

My friends did this. It was fun, but it took us a minute to figure out how the camera worked! We also waited until later in the cocktail hour to do it, since there were only two cameras and there was a bit of a line initially.

We are doing what FutureMrs2017 said and we have a sign explaining what to do.

Following because we want a polaroid guest book! I'm thinking of just getting a scrapbook and providing the camera, film and those little sticky corners for people to stick it onto the pages and write a note? Or is that not fool proof enough?

I went to a wedding that had this and while the bride and groom had good intentions, it just wasn't organized at all! So as long as you are organized and don't have a huge line of people waiting to take their photos I'm sure people will love it

I planned on having a sign so hopefully that would be good enough, but I wasn't sure how you got the pictures to stay in the book. I didn't even think of having more than one camera, but I thought this was a great idea!

I went to a wedding that did this, and I'm toying with the idea of doing it myself. What they did is the had a large picture frame hanging from the ceiling with fishing wire, and people stood in the frame and had their picture taken. It turned out really cute. Definitely buy extra film if you do, because if someone is making a weird face, you might want to retake the picture haha. Also, I would see about hiring someone to take the pictures that way none of your guests are stuck taking pictures for an hour.

Sounds neat. FYI, for anyone interested in the history and eventual end of Polaroid, and the remaking of the Polaroid film from scratch, watch the documentary, Time Zero. It should be on Netflix.

I am definitely looking into this! I have the props, backdrop and space for it at the venue, but the cost for the camera and film?

I went to a wedding that had this and the only problem was the people were taking more than one photo and they ran out of the film Smiley sad also keep in mind that a pack of poloroid film is ~$10 for 10 photos so in the end it would all depend on how many people you have and remembering that some people will take more than one photo so it can add up fast just to purchase the film.

For ours we have a photo booth that does the 2 strips where people get to keep one and then put one into a book and sign it.

We didn't do a Polaroid guestbook, but we did do a PhotoBooth guestbook, where the photographer would print out two copies of each guest's photos, and one would go to the guest, and the other went into an album for us, and each guest(s) would sign next to their photo! It was really fun! =)

I attended a wedding that had one and they had a polaroid attendant, so they took their place card and the attendant took the polaroid photo. It turned out great and that resolved the issues with lines and taking multiple photos.

I had one for my engagement dinner. I used an InstaxMini8. I plan to do something similar for my wedding. Here are my inspiration pics..

@Nicole, what do you think the bride/groom could have done differently? You mentioned it wasn't organized at all so want to make sure we don't repeat the same mistakes.

I got an Instax Mini just yesterday with the intention of using it with our guestbook. We would actually be doing a "guest box." Found some cute little envelopes and cards that fit the size of the photos perfectly, and was thinking guests could write a note and take a photo if they wanted to add to the envelope as well before dropping in the box. Camera seems super simple to use/reload, but was planning on some simple signage with directions as well.

I'm doing a Photo Booth guest book. I bought a cute customized guest book on Etsy and then I'm going to buy some washi tape to match my wedding colors that guests can tape their extra photo strip into my guest book.
