Polaroid Wedding Album

Staci, on September 23, 2017 at 10:17 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

Hi Ladies! I really like the idea of Polaroid style guest books, but I'm having some trouble deciding on the details. Has anyone done one of these before? Pros/Cons?

I want to get a personalized guest book, with the brackets for the photos. Any recommendations from someone who has gotten one?

Thank you!

I have seen these done. A person is taking the pics and putting together the album, as it happens. Guests need to wait in line while the person is putting the picture on the page, then they can personalize it.

It's time consuming and not every guest will wait around while their picture is being added but it is a cute idea and if enough guests do participate, super cute guest book.

If you can budget for it, a photobooth guest book is much better. Guests get the photos taken, keep one pic for themselves and stick one in the guestbook and write their well wishes next to it.

I went to a wedding with these and honestly, about 15 people did it. They wasted so much time and money with the equipment for it which was sad. I would try and opt for a photo booth or something similar instead

My sister did this for her son's wedding. They bought the little props on sticks, glasses, mustaches, hats, etc. It was fun doing the pics and then she had the sticky photo corners to use and different ink pens to write a message. Turned out really cute!

I guess since I'm not a lady, don't listen to this....but you can buy special scissors to deckle the edges of the borders of the frames and use a darker album page so the Polaroid prints stand out. I've got a couple shoeboxes of them from when I was a kid....the documentary "Time Zero" will tell you all about the popularity and sudden decline and disappearance of the Polaroid brand, and the process of recreating it completely. It may not be necessary, but it helps to know the history so you can be fully inspired for your project.

A friend of mine did this for her baby shower. Geeze, it took as a few minutes to figure out how to use the polaroid camera. Cute idea though.

This is my plan too. Now reading some of the comments I hope it goes well! I bought an album and some black card stock. Washi tape to tape the pics. I'll add regular tape too just in case. And silver and gold sharpies. My plan is to add my wedding pics and then our honey moon pics in the album as well. To make an entire book out of it.

We were going to do this but keep in mind if you are using the instax camera the flash isn't so good and selfies are hard to take. So we've decided against it!

I would also suggest a photo booth. This method is time consuming and it's not likely people would want to wait in line.

Couples do this quite often at our venue. We did one a few weeks ago and the couple had four Polaroids, double sided tape, photo book and metallic sharpies for signing. This is out the entire reception so guests had plenty of time. Lines are no longer then ones for a photo booth. Guest still put their photo in an album with a photo booth too. Depends on what you want, of course saving money with Polaroids.
