Poll: Most expensive registry item

Madison, on May 9, 2018 at 3:22 PM Posted in Registry 0 60

I'm currently working on our registry, as we will be sending STDs next month that has our wedding website, which has a link to our registry. I'm trying to get it mostly done before I send STDs out so... I was wondering (if you don't mind sharing) what's the most expensive thing on your registry and what is the item?

The most expensive thing on my list right now is a down comforter from pottery barn $179. My next most expensive thing is a Ninja blender with individual cup add-ons for $150.

I'm trying to get an idea if I should put a few more expensive things for maybe close family members or if this is about the top range I should stay around.

I would put a few more expensive things. I have heard this as a regret from other brides. People want to get you nice things or may go in as a group for them. Also if no one gifts them to you, generally you get a discount after the wedding. I have about 5 items greater than $200. With the top 2 being $400. If people dont want to buy thwm, thwy dont have to

I put a dining set lol. I believe it was 600 but it has the option of contribution! I mean, we are going to an entire new place so we have nothing

I have a cooking pots and pan set for about 250 and a few other items around 150-200 which would be appliances like the ninja blender and coffee bar. Those are the high ticket items on our registry

The majority of my registry items are all under 100, though I did register for an expensive pan set. It is $599, it’s all-clad brand, and comes with 13 pieces. I totally presume nobody will get this for me, but as someone mentioned you can buy things after your wedding at a discount depending on where you register and this is what we plan on doing because all we have is old hand me down pans that are far past their prime!

There were a couple of things my FH and I wanted that were expensive. FH wants a Dyson vacuum $499 and knife set $399. I want a Le Creuset Cookwear set $699. If we get them great if not we’ll buy them after the wedding.

My FH has an air compressor for $465 on our Amazon registry. He knows no one will buy it, but you get a 20% discount after the wedding.

It doesn't hurt to have more expensive options on your registry. Just make sure you have lower priced options available too.

Don't stress about having more expensive items. Ours is a $340 Roomba vacuum cleaner. Just make sure you have a lot of differently priced items, and several in the $20-40 range.

The bought ones that are over 3k. LOL We're making payments on those.

But I think our most expensive is a set of knives but I can't remember the exact price.

The most expensive thing on our registry is our pots and pan set. However, we are people who cook almost every night and very often have friends over for dinner so its something we want to make sure lasts a long time since we will get a lot of use out of it.

My all Clad Pots and Pans are the most expensive thing on my regsitry. At one point I did have a dining table and chairs on the registry but removed it as I'm not quite sure when we are buying a house and isn't necessary at this time.

It depends on what your buying. My husband thought nothing of buying a $300 Le Crueset stick pot. He does all the cooking and uses it a lot so I can’t complain. It makes him so happy. The rate times we go to a mall, he asks me to keep him away from Williams Sanoma and Sur La Table.

Don't be afraid to put more expensive items. I've seen people poll together to buy expensive items. As long as you have some leas expensive items on the list you're fine.

I think focusing on needs is more important than pricing. For example, a nice china set is great but would it be used? My registry is a bit different than some traditional registries as FH and I have lived together in our home for about 3 years. We don't really need much since I purchased almost all new things after I got the house. Although since one of our registries is on Amazon we're able to get a discount on things people don't buy.

There's barely anything that needs replacing at this point (we have maybe 5 items at most on our registry that are replacements or upgrades for the house), so we're mostly registering for items for our travel trailer that we purchased towards the end of last year and our honeymoon. I think the most expensive items are a private dinner for two during our honeymoon, a couple of the excursions we are going on (Chicen Itza tour and luxury sailing) some luggage (one of the 5 replacements needed at our house), portable ice maker, and a memory foam mattress for our trailer. The private dinner I is about $250 (would've been cheaper if we weren't going on our honeymoon during Thanksgiving, and we wanted to have a nice full course dinner that we didn't have to cook on that day. I'm still so excited that I don't have to cook Thanksgiving dinner this year, silly I know but there's a large amount of family). The majority of the items on both of our registries are between $20 - $80. Although we do have the more pricey items that I mentioned earlier. Our honeymoon excursions and dinner we divided into smaller amounts that way it's more feasible/easier for guests (example for our sailing we have amounts of $55 each and 4 available).

I will probably be adding more to our registry though, especially now that the guest list has increased by about 30- something people (from the top of my head). I recently saw on Amazon that there's a Breville smart oven that would be nice to add to the house - it's $399.95 (I need another oven for family meals, we have a lot of family that come over as I mentioned. This is especially true since our trailer isn't stored at our house so I can't use that oven.)

My FMIL bought all the expensive items, like the vacuum and the pan set. Everything else was like $150 and below.

The most expensive things we had were:

Shark robot vacuum (like a roomba) for $349

    Luggage set for $259

    Lawnmower for $269

No one bought any of them, but we were surprised that we received a few gifts that were priced over $100, including a knife set, a rolling/stand cooler and flatware.

The most expensive thing on my registry was a Sonos sound bar for $700. My work team bought it for us along with a sonos wireless speaker for $200. I was blown away. I only registered for it because Amazon gives you a 20% completion discount so we figured we’d buy it ourselves after the wedding. Sonos products almost never go on sale.
