Well my fiance doesn't necessarily have poor grammar but English was his second language. His vocabulary and grammar are both constantly improving. Smiley smile

It kills me, and I give him crap for it all the time, but it's not a deal breaker. We've turned it into a joke. Even I mess up sometimes and he corrects me! Nobody's perfect.

I think honestly this could go either way for me. Slightly bad grammar is tolerable and understandable, however, blatant disregard for grammar and constantly sounding ignorant is a hard pass for me.

I want to say deal breaker, but definitely red flag. My FH still spells certain words wrong and whatnot. It gets under my skin but I try to correct him as gently as I can.

Neither - FH has some grammar issues that can drive me crazy at times however I have learned to deal with them, it really is no biggie. I corrected him a few times, in private, and he seemed so embarrassed, totally not my intentions, so now I let him be him it's why I love him anyway Smiley smile

Ugh deal breaker. Not to be on a high horse or anything, but it just makes you sound dumb. Being well-spoken is an extremely attractive quality in a person.

My fiance has some learning disabilities that make it very difficult for him to express himself in writing. I nearly didn't respond to his intro on eHarmony because the grammar wasn't good. His texting drives me up a wall. But I watch him struggle so hard to express himself and to write me letters saying how he feels, that I can't help but overlook it... But I'm a librarian and both my parents are English teachers, so it's hard to say it doesn't bother me.

Bad grammar is neither to me because I can teach the teachable and if he treats me right, we can do this thing together. Depending on where the person is from, they may have slang. But I've really never had that problem. We all sometimes forget the way we were taught English. Hell, I still get mixed up with adjectives, conjunctions, predicates and all that other stuff! LOL

It's both a red flag and deal breaker. It would be hard to have a conversation. I would be willing to give some assistance, but if it's not accepted, then I cannot do it.

Doesn’t bug me like the incorrect usage of words. I’m for sure not a grammatical genius but when the wrong words are used or out of context it gets under my skin.

This is something that can be worked on so it's not a big deal. Everyone has their strengths.

My guy is a writer, but has issues with grammar. I don't love him any less for it. I wouldn't even call it a red flag.
