Pore problem!!

Future Mrs. S, on January 22, 2014 at 10:55 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 11

Alright so I have huge pores & I hate it. I don't have anyone to ask about what to do about it. I'm really self conscious about it & FH has pointed it out before. Help with minimizing your pores please??? I want to have smaller, more unnoticeable pores at my wedding

There are a lot of great products for this. Go to sephora and have them check out your skin and see what they think will work best.

Omg, I have the same problem! Microdermabrasion actually worked for me. But when I'm not having microdermabrasion facials, CVS has this mint smelling face masque that always makes my pores disappear.

Unfortunately, they don't sell it anymore, so you have to get it from places like eBay.

Mary Kay makes the absolute best dermabrasion product ever.

It's a $50 set but it lasts FOREVER. I have had the same set about 2 years - but I also don't use its 2-3 times a week, maybe 1-2 times a month instead. The first step actually opens your pore a bit to get the crap out of them, and the 2nd step closes them back up.

(I don't work for Mary Kay, promise - this is their only product I'm loyal to)

Ugh me too. Hate it. Before I apply my foundation I use a pore minimizer (benefit the POREfessional). In addition, any kind of primer will do.

I agree with @laura I use the same mint julep mask. You can buy it at sally's beauty supply. It mainly focuses on shrinking pores, drying up any blemishes and helping with blackheads!

It is inexpensive and will last a long time! Give it a try!!! Smiley smile

Clarisonic has helped me decrease pores..also origins charcoal mask is awesome.

If you wear makeup a lot, then invest in a foundation primer..tarte clean slate poreless 12 hr Perfecting Primer is amazing! If you do decide to try that I'd suggest getting the trio of sample sizes from tarte cosmetics.com..it's only 9 dollars. The full size is 30 dollars..It's a better value to buy 3 sample sizes since you basically are getting a full size and two other full size products for less than 1 tube (not sure if that made sense or not lol).

The mint julep mask as many people recommended is great just make sure not to over use it as it can easily dry out your skin. I would invest some money into going to a skin care clinic and getting some treatments done before the wedding.

Another thing you will want to do is use a pore minimizing primer on your skin before applying your makeup on the wedding day. Lots of companies make them and they work great to disguise large pores.

I second Ab on the Clairisonic. I will add, though, that when I first started using it I broke out more than usual for a few weeks because it was bringing all the crap up out of my pores. After that, my skin looked sooo much better (less break outs, tighter and smoother, less red, more even). I swear by it now.

Theres no miracle creams, you have to either do a sauna, or steam room, or swim every day, or soak your face in warm water for 20 minutes, or hold a warm washcloth to your face for a long time to get your skin pores to open because of the heat, then you soap them up. if they arent open- creams do nothing, i suggest swimming every day as well, that way youre wet and theyre getting cleaned out. you can spend hundreds on benzl peroxide or biore pore strips but if you dont hang out with warm water to open your pores youre just torturing your skin, and if you used a pore strip and didnt use warm water after the pore wouldnt close up, it would just stay empty and open for more dirt. I usually use a warm washcloth and hold it to my face and stand over the sink so i can keep reheating it(dont burn yourself but as hot as you can stand) and then i use this type of brush to wash with soap the scrub them out.

I **third** the rave reviews on the Clarisonic. My pores have shrunk and my skin glows now! Also, any topical product that has an anti-inflammatory quality will help. I love to use calamine lotion at night 1-2x weekly and the next morning my skin is smooth and the pores are small.

Anything by Origins is fantastic also. Love the charcoal mask and if your skin is at all dry, the Drink Me Up mask too.

    Just be patient. Good luck!

I sell Mary Kay and use it. The microdermabrasion works great for this problem. I use it twice a week.
