Positive Experiences

Jen, on February 19, 2020 at 8:58 PM Posted in Planning 0 14
I would love to hear everyone’s positive experiences through their wedding planning process or engagement period. A break from stress and sitting back and cherishing the good moments.

One of my favorite moments was when I came back from Thanksgiving Break to my classroom and I was engaged and all my first grade students were so excited. I had to first teach them what it meant to be engaged. 🤣😂 Parents then told me they went back home and were excited to share the news with their families.

I think just sitting back and listening to my families wedding stories I've never heard has been interesting and different traditions that are out there. My mom dug out old old wedding photos of my gram which was interesting to see how times have changed!
I'm very close with my family such as aunts uncles cousins and it's been so nice to hear how excited everyone is and how willingly people are to help. I gave myself plenty of time to plan so I'm really just trying to enjoy it all.

My husband bought me flowers and the card said thank you for all you’re doing in planning our happy ever after. Ugh that was sweet and just what I needed after the stresses

Mine isn’t really a story, just more of a thankfulness for my FHs support! I feel weddings can sometimes bring out the worst in people, and with all the drama, it helps having him reassure me that I’m not crazy! Lol. My mother and FMIL have also been helping me out with so much, so I’m really thankful for that! 🥰

Mine is talking about the music and our different songs even music for ceremony. And just the thought if marrying the love of my life at 61 makes me smile.

For me I was getting my 3 best friends together and my older sister together for dress down shopping. It was really nice. My sister is 8 years older than me but she's known my friends as long as I have and we had just a great time and went out to eat afterwards.

Our engagement was very intimate and personal. (Just us 2, no one taking photos or overseeing it happen. That's exactly how I wanted it.) My fiance asked my parents for my hand and they mentioned the proposal and doing it in front of our family and he immediately told them "Sorry but she wanted it to just be us two and I want to respect her decision." (I died at him remembering this.) Instead, he asked both of our immediate families to wait for us at my house to congratulate us and that was very special to me. Smiley heart My family and friends have been so supportive and have sent me things "Have you seen this venue?" "Have you seen these save the dates?" and that has been making this experience more pleasant and less stressful. Smiley laugh

Also your students are SO adorable! Congratulations and may your wedding planning run smoothly and less stressful!

That sounds sooooOoo sweet! My fiancé and I were also alone when he proposed. I loved it just being us. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

For me it is seeing how into planning and excited my fiancé is. I'll catch him looking up different songs for the ceremony or reception and it just melts my heart! Or when we are on the couch planning together and I'm hunched over the binder like a crazy women, I'll look up to see him looking at me with such a "I'm so in love with you" look.
