I know the healthy amount of weight to lose is generally 1-2 lbs a week. What have you found to be the most effective way of losing it and keeping it off? I am going to try the 21 Day Fix again, incorporate Pilates and join a center to start swimming again. I'm a vegan whose also gluten-free and soy-free. I have to be careful what I eat. I know eating clean helps a lot. Are there some foods that tackle weight loss better than others? Especially when it comes to carbs? I know carbs are important to a healthy diet but are some better? Having Hashimoto's sucks and takes me longer to lose. I tackled 10 lbs this fall and have kept it off. That was due to eating clean and no exercise so I can only imagine if I exercised too I would lose more faster. I want to tackle the next 10. Please let me know your thoughts.

I recently started the Keto diet.. cut carbs down to 30g NET carbs per day and little to no sugar. I also take supplements to help with what I may be missing. (magnesium, potassium, vitamin D, Vitamin B and so forth) I've done a lot of research on this way of eating and make sure that I am following all the right steps to make sure I remain healthy. 10lbs in a month is unrealistic. While it can happen to some people everyone is different. I have seen people drop 20 pounds in a month and a half on this diet and I have seen people drop 5 pounds in two months on this diet. I recommend meeting with your doctor to see what your options are. Everyone is going to have different opinions about diets and what is right or wrong. I'd consult an expert.

You may lose 10 lbs in a month, but it will be unhealthy, unsustainable, hard on your body, and you'll most likely gain it back. Eat right (whole grains, fresh produce, lean meat, healthy fats), exercise, be consistent, be patient. Hard work and consistency is the way to lose 10 pounds. And your body NEEDS CARBS. It's your body's primary energy source. Cutting them out will help you drop weight initially, but the repercussions long term aren't worth it, including gaining some or all of the weight back.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I have to take this in and remember to breathe and relax. I definitely do not want to gain whatever I lose back especially since its been hard to accomplish in itself. I guess working towards a healthier lifestyle overall with patience and perseverance is key.

I'm a big girl. Doesn't take much for me. I lost 10lbs in 8 days. It started to slow down but was still like 4 or 5 lbs a week.

I replaced 2 meals with a smoothie. Greens and fruit for breakfast. Greens and less food for dinner. I had a colorful meal for lunch. With protein and veggies. I didn't start adding brown rice or quinoa until like week 3 cause I love pasta. I didn't want to get caught up.
