Possible venues that would be good for kids as well?

Stephanie, on June 4, 2019 at 5:33 PM Posted in Florida Planning 0 2
So im supposed to be getting married in the next couple of years, our date got pushed back to try and savr up extra money, and im looking around at possible new venues.

Im trying to keep the wedding as low buget as possible but im wondering if there are any wedding venues that would be really awesome/interesting/educational bottom line entertaining for kids.

Our guest list involves a large number of kids so i thought it would be pretty awesome to have a venues that either is or is close to something the kidd could do to have fun or something.

Like a zoo or interactive museum or something. I reached out to clearwater aquarium but they'll be renovating around that time and Florida aquarium in tampa is WAY out of my price range.

Im open to all suggestions! Please help with ideas!

    Hey Stephanie!

This is such a thoughtful idea for your wedding! Do you know the age range roughly of the children that will be attending? I searched in the venue search tool for Florida Museum Wedding Venues that might have some fun or interesting suggestions for you to check out.

The only thing about your idea that I think you should consider is that if the parents of the children are enjoying the reception and mingling with friends and family members, who will be minding the children as they explore the venue? This is something that you should discuss with any perspective venues to ensure that you will be able to implement a plan so that parents and children can all have a great day.

I can't tell you where they are at pricewise, but a few venues I stumbled across while searching:

    -Mote Marine Aquarium

    -Tampa Zoo

    -Jacksonville Zoo

    -Central Florida Zoo

    -Orlando Science Center

I would guess all of those come in pretty close to the Florida Aquarium for price. Most of those types of places require use of their caterer. We actually toured the FL Aquarium and learned that the timeline was really restrictive and we would have to do a 5:30 ceremony with only 30 min to set up, which would be almost immediately followed by another ceremony. Our reception would have gone until 11:30. As cool as the venue was, I figured most kids wouldn't make it that late and people would just end up leaving early.

My aunt also mentioned to me that there is a firefighter museum in Tampa that does wedding receptions. I think they are on the cheaper side Smiley smile

What if you chose a more typical venue with a big ballroom or lots of outdoor space where you can set up games? Most rental companies have some games you can rent, but you can also DIY cornhole, ring toss, giant jenga. I even saw a giant version of "Guess Who" played with pictures of the family. Good luck!
