Post Elopement Brunch

Hi all-
We are having a small private ceremony in Colorado with just family, 9 people total. We are thinking of having a post celebration back home with the rest of the family and friends. We want it casual. Anyone have any ideas on invite wording for something like that?? We also want to make sure no one brings any gifts for us. We will though accept donations for the local animal shelter. How can we go about wording that as well? We dont want to make it sound like we are forcing people to bring something. Itll be around Christmas time so we figured it would be a nice gift to the shelter animals!

I would just say "We got married! Come celebrate with us at X AM at X location!" then include the details. I'd create a wedding website (this will be a nice place to share elopement photos with guests too) and you can put under "registry" something like "Your presence is enough! But if you would like to gift more, please make a donation to X shelter in our name" and include a link to the shelter and how to donate.

We are having a separate ceremony and found invites that say "Please join us for a celebration of love and marriage"

You could set up a fund for the shelter and treat it like a registry. I have no ideas how, but that was my one thought.

Welcome to the WeddingWire community, Brittany!

This sounds like so much fun and a great way to celebrate your marriage with friends and family!

I like FutureMrsD’s approach to handling the ‘registry’ and donations to the animal shelter. I’m sure people will ask you if you’re registered anywhere and you can inform them about this also!

Here are some invitations with example wording from Pinterest Smiley smile
