Post Wedding Baby Fever

Paulina, on November 6, 2015 at 2:17 PM Posted in Married Life 0 42

My hubz and I knew from the moment we met that we wanted to have little mini rascals together and now that we are married, now that the wedding bonanza is over - we are ready to move into the next step of our relationship! Smiley smile I'm so excited! But also nervous as I don't know anything about being pregnant or having a baby, let alone raising it! I've been on a search to download books to my Kindle.

Please, if you have any advice or books you recommend - send them my way! Have a great weekend!

PS. I changed my avatar picture!

I have two children (11 NAD 5) and I am now having baby fever lol but FH does not want anymore haha so I will play with all of my friends babies. The only book I got was What To Expect When You Are Expecting and it was great. You can even read it before pregnancy. Good luck!!!

Good luck! FH and I planned to wait to have kids for a few years but I agree, I have baby fever! It's not the right time for us now, both still only 2-3 years into our careers and want to get to a more comfortable level financially and professionally before having a family.

My husband and I want to wait a little before having kids as we had complications post wedding. However, I am literally bouncing off the walls wanting to get pregnant and have babies, and then I look at our finances. lol maybe in a year we will try or on our first anniversary trip? I like the "baby rabies" name though, it is so true

Oh baby fever has hit hard. I'm not prego tho...so yea. I've just mainly been reading online various things and info from my MD. The pregnancy forums are a scary place tho! Not sure I want to leave WW for that reason

I have baby fever, but I don't want to become obsessed with TTC. We're not preventing anymore and kind of seeing what happens. If I get pregnant right now, great! If not, it's not going to be a cause for concern. We'll probably reevaluate next summer.

@Sparkles, I'll make sure to not visit any pregnancy forums yet! Eek!

Good luck to when you all decide to start having rascals! ((:

    @ Kristina- That's so cute!

My DH is so not a planner, so he is more of take what comes and roll with it- most of the time he is excited. He has gotten excited about it in the past, googling what we can and cant eat during pregnancy etc. it was adorable.

If FH could have his way, he'd knock me up right now. Our wedding is still 2 years away, so in his mind it would be no big deal for me to pop out a baby 9 months from now, then still have a year to plan/organize wedding things. Pile that on top of a brand new job, nursing school & minor home renovations. He's high as a kite if he thinks that's going to happen. Haha.

My advice would be go see the doctor for a preconception check up.

I went to see the doctor yesterday and she recommended that if DH and I are planning to try for children it would be best to do some tests. I have to go get blood work for Chicken Pox and German Measles ( I have been vaccinated before) to ensure that all my immunization are up to date.

Has anyone found a TTC forum that isn't totally and utterly based on numbers? I get that after potentially years of trying you're looking at every single detail, but I just want to talk about my feelings. And make babies.

I have baby fever like crazy. @M I have found the best website is baby center (another WW user suggested it to me). Just join more of the groups that aren't always talking about temping etc. I hate the bump just rude knot girls with raging hormones.

I was looking at babycenter but it's not very active and still seems super technical, but maybe because I was in the TTC group? Is there a group you recommend, or can you not just post generally?

DH and I have discussed it extensively.... he is ready for children now or later, and does not want to know when I've stopped BC. He said it will suddenly feel like very sexy work. I get that, but I'm off birth control now and want to talk about it, and can't! Just stupid shit even, like nursery decoration. And I don't want to flood this place with annoying shit.

We have a 9 month old and my DH wants another child (like yesterday) so they will be close in age. So we are not preventing. Try to stay away from the baby forums and fb groups - they made me paranoid my entire pregnancy with my first.

@m if you find anything that you like can you pass along the info? I've been searching and haven't found anywhere that I really liked yet. It may be because I'm new to this process, but like you said it all seems completely based on numbers.

I had our daughter two years ago (I was 25), and I'm getting married next year before our daughter turns 3.

I read books and downloaded Apps like "Pregnancy & Baby/What to Expect" as well as "My Pregnancy Today" on my phone.

As far as advise goes....our daughter was my first and I was a little scared that I was pregnant and about to be a mother, however the very second you see your child for the first time the emotion you feel is indescribable.

I had no clue how to raise a child but after giving birth my mother mode kicked in...its crazy because your whole way of thinking will change...even my FH ways of thinking has changed.

I think you both will be fine. The warmth and nurture will come naturally when baby is here.
