Post wedding CHOP!

KM, on September 21, 2014 at 4:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 75

I don't know about you long haired ladies, but I'm SO ready to get rid of my hair. I've been growing it out for over a year to get it to the length I want for the wedding, but as soon as we tie the knot, it's coming OFF. My dog pulls it out, FH pulls it out, I get it caught in everything (car door, hangers, my ring) and my poor shower drain can't take much more of it. I've already got my new style picked out: the long bob a-la Jessica Alba. I love it because it can keep some of the length in the front, while it being short and manageable in the back.

Are any of you ladies making a drastic change after the wedding? Do you have a style picked out?

First pic: My hair now (it's actually a little longer)

Second pic: New style

Mine was accidentally two weeks BEFORE the wedding. My normal girl wasn't there anymore and the salon didn't tell us (us being my sister and I, who go together to the same girl). They gave us another girl. I told her I just wanted it trimmed to look healthy for my wedding. She cut off 4 inches. I was devastated.

But I just curled it and went on. It was cute, but shorter than I dreamed of.

My hair is all one length now and is just below my shoulder blades. After the wedding, I'm cutting it in this style, but it will be about 2" shorter. A friend has this similar cut but it's about 3" longer.

I'm way over-due for my post wedding chop. I was supposed to have it done at the end of August but ended up having surgery the day of my hair appointment and keep forgetting to reschedule. It's driving me crazy!

EricaTX...your story is the exact reason why I'm not letting anyone touch my hair before the wedding...even for a trim. My usual girl (the only one who listens to me when I say TWO INCHES) stopped doing hair and is referring everyone to a new girl. Nope...not happening.

As soon as I get back from the honeymoon, it's happening!! My hair isn't even near as long as yours, but it's driving me crazy. I will do lots of layers and probably about chin length.

Right now it touches my bra strap with side bangs. It will just brush my shoulders, all one length on 8/3/15.

I definitely can't go that short. I have a really round face and going any shorter than the top of my shoulders makes me look super pudgy. This picture is probably how it will look after I cut it. Don't mind the super TBT picture of FH and I from almost 5 years ago haha.

My chop will come about a month before the wedding. Right now my hair is just below my waist. I will cut about 6 in off before the wedding. Then after I will cut it again so it is easier to deal with.

My hair is as long as yours and will cut off after, kinda like the pic you have, mainly because I have had ombré hair for a year now and need to get rid of the damaged ends, I have even colored out the blonde and have a purple ombré going on. Keeping it long for now to make sure I have enough length of hair for my wedding updo. I just really want my natural healthy gorgeous hair back!!

I always chop off my hair and have been dreaming of growing it out for the longest time, now I'm finally doing it and as much as a pain in the ass as it can be, I definitely love the length and how it looks when I put big, sexy curls/waves into it. However, I can not WAIT to dye this shit. My natural color is an extremely dark brown that looks almost black, I dyed it a while ago to a medium brown and then bought $130 extensions for my wedding day (even though I'm growing my hair out it won't be long enough day of), I was stupid for matching the extensions to my dyed hair and not my natural hair color and I can't return that poo so I figured I would keep my medium brown color until after the wedding, but I do miss my dark hair paired with my blue eyes.

See I haven't put dye in my hair since I was in the 10th grade. I really want to do some highlights before the wedding, but I don't know if I'll have the time/money to. My stylist does them so that the highlights are just on the under portion of your hair, so you still get the dimension without the root maintenance...which I might do during my hair trial.

I'm really, really thinking about it. I did a really good trim after, but the next time I go, I'm tempted to chop to my chin and it's pretty long right now for me.

This isn't totally different for me, I have a tendency to grow it for awhile and then chop. I get bored.

This is what I want to do after the wedding. Right now it's just past shoulder length.

I look like Rosie O Donnell with short hair, I hate it short. I will keep my hair long afterwards. I just wear a pony tail most of the time.

If I got my hair cut my FH would file for divorce haha! He is absolutely in love with my hair, cutting my hair would be like removing a leg. It's a part of me and even though I hate it at times, I've never felt more confident in my beauty than when I have long hair. It just reaches the top of my butt, so I don't want it any longer, but it's going to stay this way for a very very long time!! So I'm just like @BostonBunny!

I really do love my long hair, but sometimes I just need a BREAK! It grows like a weed, so when I cut it, the break doesn't last long. It's back to being long in no time. The only thing I hate about shorter hair on me is that it makes me look younger than I already do. I think my long hair gives me some age! lol and I need it.
