I don't know about you long haired ladies, but I'm SO ready to get rid of my hair. I don't know about you long haired ladies, but I'm SO ready to get rid of my hair. I've been growing it out for over a year to get it to the length I want for the wedding, but as soon as we tie the knot, it's coming OFF. My dog pulls it out, FH pulls it out, I get it caught in everything (car door, hangers, my ring) and my poor shower drain can't take much more of it. I've already got my new style picked out: the long bob a-la Jessica Alba. I love it because it can keep some of the length in the front, while it being short and manageable in the back.

Are any of you ladies making a drastic change after the wedding? Do you have a style picked out?

First pic: My hair now (it's actually a little longer)

Your hair is beautiful, but I feel your pain! The headaches, the tangles, and the getting stuck in EVERYTHING! I grew mine out for 2 years to donate to locks of love again, then decided not to because I want it long for the wedding. It was about 6 inches longer than yours, but I ended up getting 5 inches cut off because it was just TOO heavy! My hair is too thick! You should donate it to locks of love after the wedding!

ETA: I knew I had to cut it when it reached my butt! I didn't want to sit on it!

Here is my post wedding chop. I had short hair for most of my adult life, but starting growing it out about three years ago. Not for a wedding just because I couldn't find a good salon in the area I was living in, but after the wedding I couldn't take it any longer and since I was in my hometown, I trusted my old hairstylist to work her magic!

Its taken (legit) 6 years (even before i had met FH) for my hair to touch my shoulders, its breaks and is fine and i would kick a baby dolphin for it to be long and fantastic. i used to be platinum blonde and even without over processing, it dies and is brittle. even as a kid i never had hair past my shoulders, so i'm hoping!!!! i won't be cutting it. even though i really love short hair, i just can't go thru this again.

AndixLyn - have you been checked for anemia/thyroid? I take biotin (when I remember). I chopped my hair in 2008 into a short bob, took 3 years to grow out. I'm hoping to lop off 5 inches post wedding. I'm tried of the FH rolling over on it and me getting stuck when sleeping.

Andi... your hair sounds just like mine. It's beyond frustrating.

I like the way my hair looks long and so does FH, so I don't imagine I'll cut it (other than normal trims).

Denise - both actually, totally anemic, i do iron infusions regularly and hypothyroid so its a big battle in life with hair, weight, depression, exhaustion etc. i take 10-20mg of Biotin a day, have for 7 years and i take pre-natal and folic acid. a few others as well

My mom and sister have anemia, though only my mom has the brittle hair. It's a genetic in the family (borderline thesalonemia) but they control it with their diets right now vs. pills (ex: lentils, liver).

Me! I chopped my hair and donated it in May and am trying to grow it out for the wedding. But after the wedding I want it short again.

I am jealous of all of these women with hair that grows like crazy. I chopped my hair off in 2009 and I'm still growing it out. I have only gone in for trims in those 5 years and it is about to my bra strap right now. It has been at that length and not gotten much longer for quite some time now.

I go back and forth because I love the super sleek and sophisticated look of the pixie or short bob but then I don't want to have a "mom" cut when I have kids. Plus, FH loves it long. Easy for him to say he's not the one that has to spend 20 mins blow drying it or getting it stuck and caught in stuff all the time.

I'm thinking of doing thick bangs if my hair can pull it off. i used to have side swept bangs but FH doesn't like bangs so i grew them out for the wedding

I can't wait to chop mine!!!! I'm going to cut at least 6 inches off as soon as we get back from the honeymoon. I should probably go ahead and make that appointment now because it's coming soon! Just not soon enoughSmiley smile
