Post Wedding "Happy" Weight Gain

Sher Bear, on February 17, 2015 at 2:41 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 16

Any of you married ladies having the same problem??

I cannot seem to get a handle on it, can't get motivated to get out there and exercise and eating well is not helping the problem since I am over 50 and the weight is just stuck! Same thing for my husband, we just got married four months ago and have each gained 10-15 pounds ugghhhh

We went to a wedding six weeks after ours and when we saw our picture we went UGH! Do it together, do it for the long term health benefits and added energy. We are down a total between us of almost 50 pounds from counting calories and a bit of moving around in eight months.

It's great to be happy--even better to be happy for longer! ps I will be 59 in three months Smiley smile

    pss Hi Lively xox

@ Tina, great advice, thank you!

I was also wondering and maybe I'm a little bit of a nut but, I think I have a little post wedding planning funk going on.... not bad just, a "dang it's all over" kind of thing.

Yes it is a thing. Q100 did a segment on this topic a few months ago. Lots of people were calling in saying how much weight they'd gained after the wedding.

I gained a bit after my wedding. Then it was better for a while when I was working out again and right now the combo of my commute, law school and the weather is kicking my butt.

Most weight I've gained in my life was after I got married. I've been 108 lbs for like ever, didn't even gain the freshman 15 in college now I've gained around 6-8 lbs. I know this may not seem like a lot but when you've been one way for several years and you're short like me it really shows. I blame it on us eating out all the time and our apt. is so tiny that I don't get any exercise.

We both gained weight and stop going to the gym for 4 months. On Monday, we finally made it back to the gym. My husband gained 17lbs and on a serious mission to lose it. I on the other hand, won't weigh in. I don't like getting on the scale. I added 1.75inches on my waistline. So I'm working on losing the inches. I don't think our weight gain is just because we are married. I think it's because of the holidays & Winter Fluff. Also, during the cold winter, we rather stay home & snuggle. We are on a high protein diet, low carbs and working out. So when the Spring arrives & we will be ready!

I gained weight right before the wedding, and lost it right after. I was mad. I got my wisdom teeth out like the week we came back and lost ten lbs. -_-
