Postcard stamps?

Kelsey, on November 13, 2017 at 5:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Hi! Did anyone use postcards for their RSVPs? We have the most beautiful postcards, but the stamps from the post office are these super ugly shells... Does anyone know of a decent website I can order postcard stamps from that aren't a dollar per stamp?

Zazzle or ask your pay office if they have any different ones.. if you tell them it's for a wedding they usually have something else

Why not just spend the extra 16 cents and get regular stamps with a wedding/love theme?

To be honest. no one but you will pay attention to the stamps.

I make the post office pull out the book of stamps every time I go, they have such variety and I'm always able to find something unique.

We're using postcards. We got custom stamps with our pictures on them from stamps.com. We purchased them to go on our invitations, but we'll also put some on a few of the STDs. For the others, we're having the post office print the basic 35 postage for us. It's basic black and white, but not those ugly seashell stamps that they have this year. The picture on the left is an example of the post office printed stamp vs the shells on the right.

ETA: Unfortunately, they only have one postcard stamp design per year. Last year's design was a bird design. I didn't fancy them either, but it's worth seeing them if your post office has any left.

They do have another postcard stamp available online.

You can also use any forever stamp. It is more expensive but only 49 cents, not $1.

Thanks! The whole purpose of doing the RSVP's as postcards was to avoid the forever stamp price. The birds are better than the shells, and my local post office has some, so I think I'll just try those.... 16 cents extra per stamp adds up quickly when you are sending out 200.

They didnt give me the option of just paying for the postage and getting them printed out.... our wedding is a winter wedding and a dark burgundy/ silver is our colors.... black and white would look so much better on them! Do all post offices do the printing?

I had the same issue and had the post office print the plain stamps with the QR barcode. I had to go to 2 different post offices though in order to get them.

Are you having 200 guests or sending out STD to 200 households? If you're planning for 200 guests, you likely won't need 200 STDs. I almost made that mistake when I started planning to order our invitations.
