Postpone wording.. Help?

Jen P., on August 23, 2012 at 9:33 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Sooooo, I'm trying to write a letter that would sum up what is going on with the wedding and this is what I've got.. I thought we'd keep it fun and casual, just a quick little "we've moved the date" blurb without giving a sob story:

CHANGE OF PLANS

The wedding is off!! No, just kidding Smiley smile

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've decided to push things out.. so please mark JANUARY 5TH 2013 on your calendar and plan to have the time of your life!

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you, but we wanted to let you know that we love you and would still love for you to be there as we renew our vows on our actual anniversary date as we should have done in the first place.

As for the wedding invitation you recieved yesterday? Toss it. Or keep it. Whatever. But don't send us the RSVP! If you choose to throw it away, please recycle! If you REALLY want to go green, peel the cute little stamp off the back of the RSVP and stick it on a postcard of your own!

We thank you for your continued love and support with this very tough decision! We cannot wait to celebrate with you in January.

    Love, Jen & Denna

I think it gets right to the point without dragging. I know I would have a hard time writing something like that so I think you did a fabulous job!

Good job. And it's nice to see another bride having their real wedding a year after they got married! Smiley smile

Not to ruin the fun, but any chance you would want to do it on your 2 yr anniversary?

This is just the postponement letter, right?

And you will be sending out New invitations with the new location and time?

Did you want to be 6 months pregnant at your renewal, or have the little one with you? Maybe leave it open ended right now that more information on the new date will be released in the near future. THEN after you announce you are pregnant, you can also let everyone know you will have the wedding celebration on your 2 yr.

    Just an idea.

Otherwise, I Love the humor you have in the letter as is.

Hayley that is a nice idea.. I don't know though.. I kind of want to be dooonnne with everything! DH will be going back to school shortly after the baby is born, we'll be moving on with our lives and this thing has been enough stress.. I can't imagine why anyone would want to do multiple vow renewals, one VR/Wedding is enough for me! ;P I'll bring it up to DH though since we haven't thought about pushing it out 2 years..
