Postpone ??

Brianna, on April 23, 2020 at 5:23 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
Hey everyone! So my date is 9/18/20 and I’m thinking about maybe postponing. Not sure if everything else will be up and running but most of my family is coming from out of state and I don’t know how people are going to feel about traveling. Any advice? Still thinking about maybe just having an intimate ceremony that same day and do just a reception later on? What do you guys think?

If the date doesnt mean much to you and you can wait another year then I would just postpone. Also depends on your mentality. If you think you can go ahead and plan with what's going on and potentially cram stuff in a short period of time when we begin reopening then stick with your date.

We are very close to just postponing our August date because we aren't thrilled with the idea of planning during uncertainty, rushing when things get reopened, having guests feel obligated to attend despite potential fears, etc.
It's just too stressful in my opinion.

We postponed our wedding from May to October (getting married in Pennsylvania) and whether or not people decide to travel from out of state, we are not changing the date again. We decided if my future husband’s grandparents couldn’t travel from Texas for the day, we would visit them shortly after the wedding.

Totally feel you girl! My wedding is September 17, and I can’t help but wonder how I’ll get things done- like hair and makeup trials, alterations, and everything else. We are talking about postponing or seeing what phase New Jersey is in (we are getting married there) so we need to plan as if that can happen. I was close last week to through in the bucket, but people and the venue told me to wait. I have a lot of high risk guests so I’m not sure. We are in this boat together!!

    Hi Brianna,

I'm sorry you're having to think about postponing your August wedding on top of planning your big day. eyFYBiGtFgC4Ag-LxBWWMP5UvJmt7cCKk6ZuRGas

I agree with the recommendations above. While this is definitely an uncertain time, it seems like plenty of August couples are waiting to make postponement decisions. Of course, everyone's situation is different, so it never hurts to be proactive about plan B!
