I’m gonna be the YES— we postponed our wedding date to May instead of January 2023.

We noticed cases of flu, cold and peaks during the holiday season. I would rather be at ease knowing me and my guests are healthy and not have to worry.
Also vendors might reschedule too due to staff getting covid.

    Hi scared Bride,

2020 bride to be here, we got engaged in December 2019, and it was a huge shock to us just a few months later to be locked down, nervous for the future. We were supposed to wed 2/26/21, but pushed it out 1 year.
Now, plans are still on for this year. The venue is outside, we are supplying black masks and purel for those who want it, and have asked within the RSVP how many vaccine shots our guests have had (we did not ask for proof, but figured since they rsvp, it was good for liability coverage) while I can only hope no one lied for their own safety, I do believe we are doing everything we can short of making it any less romantic of a scenario. In addition, we are setting up a live stream to our particularly vulnerable and distant relatives who have chose not to our could not make it, and shipping them wedding favor boxes, making sure that everyone feels included in the festivities regardless of whether or not the could or would come.
While I know that sounds all great and wonderful, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t still concerned. Deep breaths, ask yourself what it would mean if someone attended, and possibly got seriously ill, and how that would leave an impression on you. While not a fun question, it will help you decide what you need to do in your scenario, and will give you comfort to know you are taking it seriously and that you do care.

No ma’am! I left it up to my guest. I be had maybe 4 people call and say they can’t make it anymore due to COVID. But two are 80 something and the others have prior illness. So understandable. Mask are required but no postponing over here… People that really want to be there for you will be. It would be different if there was a shut down.

We’re not picking a date in 2022 on purpose. We’re planning for 2023 because we want people to be able to comfortably celebrate with us. Schools have pivoted back to remote learning here again and things are starting to shut down again here but I live just outside of NYC. Everywhere is different I know but I don’t see things improving here until late spring at the earliest. I think that you should ask yourself if you’ll regret not having the big wedding that you want.
