Hello everyone! I need some advice and suggestions! We have decided to postpone our May 9th wedding to this August BUT we want to get married ASAP. Our families are very traditional and we are just ready to start our lives together. So we are just going to have a small ceremony on my family’s farm with the view of the mountains and have our immediate family there. Question is, do I wear my wedding dress or save it for our big celebration where we will still have a mock ceremony and reception and just order a cute white summer dress to wear for our small ceremony? I’m split on what to do! I want to wear it and have all those special feelings when we are actually getting married soon or do I save it so no one even sees pictures of it on Facebook and such and so that way our big celebration feels more like it would have if we didn’t have to postpone.

We are doing same as you. We are getting married on our original date April 4th and moved everything to August 1st. We will, I guess Be renewing or vows in front of our family and friends. I am struggling with the same question. Do I wear my dress or wait for everyone to see in August? My fiancé says he won’t have his tux so doesn’t really want me to wear my dress. I went ahead and ordered a spring dress online just in case.

If you are thinking that you don’t want anyone to see your dress before the reception then I would say order something nice for you to get married in. Best of luck!

Totally up to you! I'm wearing mine twice.. its like the one upside that I can wear the amazing dress more than once! My FH will wear two different outfits however.. we think its silly to rent the same suit twice, especially since he wont need to match a BP anymore. He will either wear something he already owns or if store are open by then we will pick something new at kohls

We are doing the same! I discussed it with FH and we decided it together. He was very against a "first look" so this actually works out in some ways. We will be able to do pictures before our later ceremony and reception and get to skip the cocktail hour

Congrats on your engagement! I'm so sorry COVID-19 is messing with your wedding plans. However, your intimate ceremony sounds like it is going to be so beautiful! The mountain view is going to be so dreamy!
I would absolutely wear your dress to both, your ceremony in May and reception in August. I'm bummed I only got to wear mine once so I am jealous you get to wear it twice!
