Postponed weddings

I had a question for you all! Those of you that ended up also having to postpone your big weddings, will you be sending out invites to those that originally declined your invite?

Yeah I'm sending to everyone because they may have RSVPed no because of a conflict for that date. For example, I have one friend who couldn't make my original date because her due date was the same week but now should be able to come to our later date with her infant.

We're hoping to have an intimate ceremony/reception sometime later this year hopefully with a vow renewal in a year or two. After we are legally married, we won't be in any hurry for the big wedding. After all that's been going on, we're so far removed from the intense planning and are just completely over it. Some people who declined initially were really dodgy and disrespectful so no, some of them wouldn't be re-invited when we have our vow renewal. It's too much to explain but we have our reasonsSmiley smile

I haven’t sent out invites, but there were some people who showed very little interest when trying to reach out and collect information i.e. addresses, phone numbers, correct spelling of spouses names etc. Some folks outright said they weren’t sure they can make it because they were making alternative travel plans. I will not include those people for the new date. Also, work colleagues and certain extended family that I originally invited out of courtesy will not be invited. I’ve been given a chance to really think critically about who should be at the wedding and really taking this opportunity to clean house. If anyone asks, I will just let folks know unfortunately we’ve had to significantly downsize our guest list due to the change in the date. Case closed! I changed the link to the website and did not announce the new date yet. But simply alerted my guests in light of Covid-19 we are postponing. We’ll reach out with new information once finalized. Since our new date is not until September 3rd, 2021, my plan is to send out electronic save the dates in February/May 2021 only to the new list of invited guests.

I will not be inviting those that did not bother to rsvp at all. For those who rsvped no, it just depends on why they could not come and the relationship that we have with them.

I sent one to everyone as well! We invited 155 and had 138 as our final count when we called it. I'm expecting to have around 145 on 8/1 now, because some people who couldn't before may be able to make it now, and vice versa!
