Postponing again?!

Sam, on February 22, 2021 at 12:24 PM Posted in Illinois Planning 0 1
Okay so we have moved our date 3 times now. Orginally 6/20/20 and now we have 9/17/21.

The roof of my venue collapsed last week due to heavy snow fall in northern IL. 🤦‍♀️
Our venue said we can move to the church next door or wait until next year when they are rebuilt. The pictures of the church are not great but we are waiting to see how they fix it up. The “church” used to be a brewery so it may fit our style.
Here’s the thing, I’m still worried about covid restrictions. We’d like to have 150-200 ppl. We also loved our original venue so much, they think they will be rebuilt by 1/2022.
To say planning a wedding with covid and our venue collapsing has been a nightmare is an under statement.
I really don’t know what to do anymore. I did look at other venues but I can’t find anyone in our budget with any 2021 dates open. I’d like to avoid a 3+ year engagement, but idk what else to do at this point. How are other IL brides feeling?
Also, we don’t want to elope.

That's great news that they have another space you can use, and that they gave you options! ❤️

Do you know what the capacity of the "church" space is? Would it restrict you additionally in any way if there were still some gathering limits in September??

You could also postpone again for when they re-open, but that could be really stressful to tie yourself to another uncertain date!
