Hi everyone,

Are any April brides pulling the trigger and postponing their wedding?

My wedding is on April 9, 2021 with the church ceremony in NJ and the reception in Philadelphia. We plan on having no more than 140 guests.
I keep going back and forth of what to do because vaccines will be distributed to healthcare workers next week (atleast in my area I heard they are) and I feel that we are in the bubble of us being okay in April but also hearing different things. I was going to wait to decide but am scared if I wait too long we won’t get any availability for 2021.
How are all the spring brides doing?

Unless one is God and we can see them 24/7, then we truly don't know what others are doing.

My stepsister is a nurse and so is her husband. They told me that they mark every patient down as having COVID in ordee to receive more funding. COVID is definitely real, but keep in mind that statistics can be skewed.

You are right but I also know 6 people who are just getting over COVID. One also being an 8 year old boy.

I'm confused at the purpose of this comment. I just wrote that COVID was real...

Nope, we are going full steam ahead with our wedding. People have the option of wearing a mask or not, but we worked hard for it so we are not changing anythingSmiley smile God has our back

We have officially moved our 4-3-21 wedding to 5-7-22. I won't want the worry, the unknowns or the limitations. We all deserve to have our dream wedding! For me that's one that feels like a regular, pre-COVID wedding that every bride before us has had the luck to enjoy. Good luck with your decision!

We are planning on 4/22/21. It will be an outdoor reception/ceremony with no more than 100 people. Been together for 8 years now and originally wanted to marry last year so really don't want to push it off any longer.

Our wedding is the 29th and there will be 50 people including my fiancé and I. We already ordered our custom guest book and personalized items so unless it is going to get worse by April then we are still having it. The ceremony is outside and the reception will be inside with distanced tables and spaces between everyone.

I am going through with my plans as scheduled on April 3 at a state park in Alabama. We have been planning this wedding since before the pandemic. The ceremony will be outside so I'm not at all concerned with anything else but the weather cooperating. We may have to make slight changes to the reception depending on how this pandemic is playing out such as the guests may have to wear masks while inside when they're not eating.. We are not offering a virtual attendance. It's entirely up to the guests if they want to attend. Most of the attendees and wedding party are family anyways. We will stay in compliance of the state regulations but I'm not letting this ruin our day. I'm also an emergency room nurse & I deal with this virus on a daily basis. So we'll take a few precautions & enjoy our day as planned.

Smiley smile I’m getting married April 3rd too! How many are on your guest list? I’m getting so many opinions on how many is “okay.” My ceremony and reception is outside as well.

We are capped at 100 but I'm sure that number will change some as it always does at any wedding. My reception is inside & the venue is fine with our total guests. We're having the ceremony on a deck overlooking a creek & mountainside. The max for the deck is 100 total so that's the reason for the cap on guests. I would not worry about how many is "okay". Just be complient with the venue rules/ recommendations. Just remember.. it's your day.. don't worry what others think or their opinions. Good luck! You've picked a great date!!

Just wanted to update..we’ll likely be postponing. Our venue has turned out to be kind of a nightmare recently and not very transparent. They initially gave us the option to move to a sister property but we’d have to abide by the other locations costs (which was more expensive). And they said if we wanted to make that change we’d be subject to a $1500 fee to break contract unless we wait to make the decision when we are 75 days out from the wedding. Well today we are 75 days out and we received word that we can try to arrange to have it at another private venue which would allow the event, but we’d have to pay more due to their costs being different. And our fee would now be waved. We said we wanted to stay at the same venue preferably because I don’t really like the other two options (different vibe, and still more expensive) and we haven’t been given much direction. They essentially said we can choose to postpone or move the location and we have until March to decide. I feel like we’ve been left to make this decision on our own without guidance from our venue manager/coordinator and it’s sooo discouraging. I’m scared to postpone and for the venue to continue to not allow weddings at a later date. I am lost here.

Im in the NJ/PA area too and we have 300 guests and still having our wedding on April 21. If the guests dont want to come, its up to them but honestly im not gonna hold my day for anyone. Even if only our families show. Smiley smile 140 isnt a bad number to have but its up to you and you may not enjoy the day if you are weary about it.
