Postponing due to covid

Lydia, on August 25, 2021 at 11:14 AM Posted in Planning 0 2
We just signed paperwork last week postponing from our original date (12/31/21) to a year later (12/31/22). It was a really difficult decision, but I think we made the right call given our guest count, almost all of whom were going to travel from out of state for the wedding, and all the elderly family members who where planning to attend. We are still planning to get married on our original date, but we're going to do a elopement/microwedding with only our parents and sisters (so 8 people including us). I'm really glad we're still getting married this year, but I feel like I'm not starting from scratch planning our elopement, and I'm still working on finishing planning our 100+ person wedding in 2022. Has anyone else wound up in a similar situation? Any tips on how to navigate it all?

Yes my husband and I did the same. We legally got married and had a microwedding of 35 guests last October. We had a ceremony and mingled/drank with our family and closests friends afterwords. My parents and sister cooked dinner for everyone, we still did the first dance but we didn't use our bridal party (the ones who could make it were guests) and we didn't do a bouquet toss or anything. We used Bluetooth for the music and hired a photographer.

Our big wedding is this October where we plan to have around 90 guests. We will be using our bridal party, our DJ, photographer/videographer, and getting this one catered. We chose completely different colors, different food, different dresses literally everything for this one is different.

The microwedding was REALLY easy to plan, we pretty much did everything DIY.
