Postponing wedding due to Covid-19

Maria, on March 19, 2020 at 4:10 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9
Our wedding was supposed to be May 3, 2020. Invitations were sent late February and things were looking ok. Then my state issued guidelines stating no large groups etc. we decided to postpone to June 28, 2020 after our venue and vendors worked with us. I am so happy we changed the date. We have sent messages through social media, and texts advising our guest of the change. My question is, should I also mail out new “detail cards” or even new invitations? Most of the people coming acknowledged the new date. But I’m torn because idk of certain people who declined the invitation might change their minds and I want to let them know they can. This situation is so different and I seriously don’t know what to do.

Im going to send the entire guest list I originally sent a new event card/save the new date with a link to RSVP on our website. That way I can just send a one page card.

If you can afford to mail out just even a postcard with all the new info, that would be nice or even just use digital ones

I would send your entire guest list a change of date card and allow them to provide a new RSVP on your wedding website.

Hi Maria! This is definitely uncharted waters for everyone!! I'm so happy to hear you've got a new date and a plan worked out already! Smiley heart

I agree on notifying your entire guest list - you can do a single card mailing, or even email your guests. People will just appreciate the communication!

If you ordered your invitations from Minted they are offering to reprint at 25% of your order price if you had to change the date because of COVID-19!

Unfortunately we ordered from Shutterfly, but thank you for the suggestion. We ended up going with Vistaprint for the new “Detail” card. We decided to go simple, I refuse to spend more money on the wedding until we are able to determine if it will go forward or not.

I mean things are changing day by day and state by state, but in NJ is not looking too good for now. May could be good or not, who’s to know. Same thing with June. It’s all up in the air now. Good luck on your wedding!!! Just remember whatever happens, the love between you and your fiancé is what matters, the wedding is just something extra. 💕💕
