Postponing Wedding

If u dont mind me asking which 3 vendors aren’t available. And you will have to check if u will lose ur deposits and calculate how much money lost if so. My vendors will not refund deposits if we cancel.

Pick the Friday! We are getting married on a Friday as well :-) and its less stress for you to find new vendors

Is there a price difference between a Friday and Saturday or any minimum guest requirements? Also do you think it will be hard to find 3 new vendors?


If it were me, i would select the Friday so that i don’t have to go and source additional vendors and possibly lose out on any additional deposits. I think most people take 1/2 days or a full day before the day of the wedding anyway to do their own wedding prep as a guest...especially women.

Now ask yourself is ur heart absolutely set on these specific vendors, did they give u a great price or package that you wont find anywhere else? Does the friday date work for most of your family and friends? And also factor in money lost/money u will spend with a new vendor.

This is a hard decision haha, but I would do the Friday wedding, since you'll have all your vendors, and won't have to worry about hiring 3 new ones! Not sure your whole situation (if a destination wedding) or how many people you are inviting, but I'm sure your guests will find a way to be there.

And if you have less guests there than you hoped, then that's less money out of your pocket to pay for them.

Woah that’s hard. The dj can’t send someone else in place of them? Same with the photographer?

Thank you all for your advice. You're right! We need to stick with the vendors we fell in love with last year - we just can't imagine our big day without our entire team. OMG, yall! We have a date - 10/2/2020

The photographer we found is a husband/wife team so no one is able to go in their place. They are a newer business but really have the EYE for photography/videography. Our planners recommended the DJ - I believe he has an assistant who can come, but we had a relationship with him.

It really is a tough decision but I am determined that COVID-19 will not rain on this bride's parade!!

Pick the Friday! They will be there! We are having our wedding on a Thursday and invited extra people thinking we would get all no’s. Well...we got way too many yes’s and went OVER budget lol. They’ll be there...don’t worry!!
