Postponing//elopement

We are currently planning to get married on July 11th in NJ (we live just outside of NYC). While we are going to wait a few more weeks before making a final decision, it is becoming more and more apparent that our big wedding will not take place in July (nearly all of our guests are out of state).

That being said, we are thinking about doing a courthouse wedding on or around or original date and pushing out the big reception.

For those of you planning something similar, do you still intend to run the postponed wedding the same way (first looks, full ceremony, etc.)?

Also, which day would you celebrate as your anniversary?

I just got married about 2 weeks ago in my parents living room. We postponed anything big for the reception, and will probably not have another ceremony done, but may have pictures taken since we didn’t get many of those before the ceremony! Best of luck, I know it was hard for me to go through.

We are still getting married May 2nd, live streaming it to our original guests, and having a “reception” of 5 all at our house.
We didn’t want to change the date. Just want to be married!

Getting married on original date and then vow renewal and celebration later on def will always celebrate my original date as my anniversary as that will be the day we legally got married.
