Practice bouquet... necessary?

Brooke , on October 3, 2016 at 6:52 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 17

The florist I want to hire is a little out of my budget and I'm trying to figure out how to cut some corner so that I can afford them. They offer a practice bouquet as a part of their package for 115... is this necessary in ya'll's opinion or is this something I can do without?

I've never actually heard of a practice bouquet. Would it be for the rehearsal? Usually, if you have a shower, someone will sit there and make a bow bouquet out of the bows from your presents that is meant to be your rehearsal bouquet.

I have heard of a separate toss bouquet, though, which is a smaller bouquet meant to look like your bridal bouquet that you can toss during the reception so you can keep your actual bouquet and preserve some of the flowers. My florist includes a free toss bouquet with the purchase of a bridal bouquet.

I have never heard of a practice bouquet so I don't think it's necessary.

If you are really looking for a cheap option, then maybe go to a craft store and make a small one ($5) to practice with?

No, it's really just a practice bouquet so that I can see what my bridal bouquet will look like prior to the day of. I would just have to make an appointment for a day during the week some time prior to the wedding to go get it. It is in addition to the toss bouquet.

I'm having done what @Blue said! We're saving all of the ribbons and bows from my showers and having those made into a bouquet for the rehearsal! I think you could cut that out of your package!

    Ohhh like a trial bouquet.

that's still kinda weird but idk, some people have the budget.

If you trust her, just get the real deal!

Sounds like yet another unnecessary expense created by the wedding industry. Never heard of it.

In my opinion...that should be included in the price, not additional. It's like a trial centerpiece...usually there is one included if they are going to offer it...

If you picked her you obviously like her work, I'd cut it...but I'm not personally to worried about the flowers...

Cut it as long as you trust the florist.

Yeah, if you've seen the florist's work and you trust her, I don't think you need to spend $100+ just to see it again. Unlike makeup or hair, where it might look different *on you* than you expected, so a trial of what you saw in the magazine is a good idea, the bouquet is pretty much stand-alone, unless you are INSANELY picky, and worried about how the colors might set off your arms. I've never heard of a practice bouquet either. We just did a demo tablescape. I don't think a bouquet sample is necessary.

I've never heard of a practice bouquet. I told the florist my vision and she brought it to life. It was the prettiest bouquet I had ever seen!

Hi Brooke, I work as a wedding florist and this is something we only offer to brides that specifically ask for it. It is most definitely an expense you can cut out from the budget!
