Pre-ceremony Snacks?

Lilly, on October 20, 2019 at 3:33 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

Hi all! I recently stumbled upon the idea of serving refreshments and maybe a snack before the ceremony for guests to enjoy. Has anyone done this? What snacks did you serve? My wedding will be outdoor during summertime in Georgia so I know drinks are a must but I'm kind of torn on the snacks idea so I would love some feedback!

My venue automatically does this! The light refreshments beforehand include: iced tea, lemonade, water and shortbread cookies.

We're also doing a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony with some cheese & crackers.

Our wedding food is a taco bar so during cocktail hour we are going to have green sauce, salsa, and cheese dip as a lite snack while the wedding party is doing pictures

This is a sweet idea! We had flavored water but no snacks. I think something like flavored water & lemonade before (or a glass of champagne if it's in budget) then maybe cheese and crackers?

Are you planning a long ceremony? Is the reception at the same venue as the wedding?

We’re having an open bar for 30 mins before the ceremony so people can grab a drink and bring it with them as they watch us get married. No snack though, we’ll have a full cocktail hour after the ceremony. I personally think snacks would be messy and distracting during the ceremony, and then you’ll have a bunch of ceremony pictures with people eating and then holding dirty napkins and plates.

I love this idea b/c I'm usually starving by the time dinner rolls around at the reception. I saw something on Pinterest when I 1st started planning where they served the guests boxes of popcorn & the boxes had the ceremony programs printed on them.

We will be doing refreshment but no snacks. I think if you’re having a cocktail hour it’s not really necessary to do even more food.

We'll be doing coffee and hot cider before our wedding. But it's in Iowa in November, so it'll be chilly. We didn't plan on doing any sort of snacks at all. But I have been to a few weddings that did chex mix during their cocktail hour which was nice.

I didn't intend to but it happened that way aha. We set up a diy snack break and it was really meant to be for after the ceremony but I know some people ate some before. It's fine aha.
