Me and FH have been together for nearly 6 years and have 3 beautiful children together. Both of us come from divorced families (for me my mom is twice divorcee and dad on 3rd) so we were VERY apprehensive about the word marriage. But after some patient waiting and long counseling sessions we hvae decided we are 100% committed and mentally ready to be married. Our kids are 4, 2, and 1 (yeah we wasted no time lol) I expressed my feelings that I wanted a 4th but I wanted to wait until ALL kids are of school aged. Hubby would rather pop one out now (but he aint doing the "popping out") So to be safe I had the implanon inserted. After to I took all of the appropriate blood test to make sure I wasnt pregnant I was so happy to finally have a peace of mind of no babies for at least 4 years. So I have a four day weekend and from friday to today I have just been SICK. I didnt think i could be pregnant even though I missed my period last month(thought it was from the BC) I thought it was the flu

Yikes! With all the pregnancies lately of people on birth control, I'm freaked out and I pray constantly that my BC doesn't fail me. 1) I'm not even sure I want to be a mother and 2) I'm terrified of having a baby and then having a child with a disability (all these new studes about autism, ADD, etc and I worked with students like that for a year and could NOT WAIT to get the heck out of that classroom as a TA) that I just won't have the patience

    Congrats on the baby though!

Almost ever person i know has gotten pregnant while on BC. The main reason i don't use it. Never have, never will. I use the Pull-out method without a condom, a little messy, but much more effective. People bash me on it all the time saying how unsafe that is, but i have been doing it for 10 years now and have never gotten pregnant.

But congrats on the coming baby. Look at the bright side...at least it will be closer in age to its siblings rather than being so far separated from them.

At one point, I managed to get pregnant even though:

    * I was using a diaphragm and jelly every time we had sex.

    * I was breast-feeding full-time.

    * We didn't have sex anywhere near what should have been the right time of month.

The day my period should have arrived, I felt pregnant. But when I told my then husband, his immediate reaction was, "That's extremely unlikely, and besides, there is no way you could know this early."

Lmao 2d Bride... this is why we don't even bother with man made birth control anymore. Nearly 4 years without BC since the youngest midget was born.

Congrats on that Krista the "pull out method" is how I got pregnant the first time so I have no luck with that at all lol. I'm going to talk to FH about both of us getting "fixed" Ive gotten pregnant on depo and now implanon, my body cannot handle the IUD, im horrible about remembering to take the pill and im scared that I will misplace the Nuva Ring So i guess it only makes sense for both of us to get fixed lol. It amazes me how many women get pregnant on BC but I guess like you guys said when its meant to be its just meant to be. Im getting excited now. don't know if I would be able to handle twins tho, but yeah with the pastor always telling me stuff it was a lil creepy at first but then I was told by my ultrasound tech that she had heard alot of females give that same story in the area. Either way I'm just gonna take care of myself, eat right, drink plenty of water, and pray for a healthy baby. I will defnitely post if I'm having twins or not lol

A girl I went to high school with is on her fourth child and has gotten pregnant while on the pill, with an IUD, and when she had the implanon in her arm! She's getting her tubes tied after this kid too .... I can't believe how her body seriously isn't phased by any form of birth control. Its ridiculous.

Best of luck to you & congrats!!

When I was in the hospital delivering my son, there was another mom who had just had her fourth baby - she had had her tubes tied years ago after the first three. They told her that probably the surgery had reversed itself (happens occasionally). Then, during her C-section, they went to redo the procedure, and saw the impossible - her tubes were still cut, separated, and tied. They have no idea how she managed to get pregnant.

I got pregnant with my 3rd child in '08 while on the depo shot... Had her 1/17/09... I look at it as a blessing in disguise, she was unplanned but meant to be here for some reason!

FH's family nicknamed her 'Surprise' lol

So my PA made it official yesterday with blood work and also removed the Implanon from my arm. He guessed that I am between 6 to 8 weeks and estimated my due date to be in November. And monday will be my first OB appointment so they will be able to tell me a little bit more. Now that all that is over and the shock has worn off I'm really excited Smiley smile

Jesus! All these stories just scared the crap out of me! LOL

FH and I have never used any form of protection (Bad us) and we've been lucky not to have gotten pregnant. I just got the pills, but was thinking of using Implanon since I don't think I'll keep up with taking the pills at the same time each day! Guess I'll have to find a new method. LOL

Congratulations though sweetie! This baby was meant to be! Smiley smile

@KitCat: Umm, what form of birth control are you using that isn't "man made"?

I'm pretty sure my current method of birth control is effective. Current method is:

    1. Tubes tied,

    2. Hysterectomy,

    3. Monogamous lesbian relationship, and

    4. Past menopause.
