Preserving Wedding bouquet and other stuff

Sheila, on August 24, 2019 at 4:40 PM Posted in Married Life 0 21
This week has been very emotional for me. The fact that the wedding day is over and I have so many memories makes me feel the desire to go back in time and be there again😭. It was magical and special even with our small party. Now the question is: how can I preserve those memories? What do you guys know about keeping the wedding stuff forever? Do you have tips?i was looking at my wedding bouquet which I kept since no one in the party was single🥰 and now I wish I can do something with it and not loose it. Is that too much ??? I will appreciate advices? Married girls, please share your experiences with this situation ❤️❤️💕🌷🌷

I let mine dry out and I put the flowers in a shadow box. It’s hanging in the bedroom.

Hi Cassidy thank you for your response. Can you tell me where can I find a shadow box?

I got mine at Hobby Lobby. They had several different sizes and styles to choose from. You can find them in the frame section and they’re 50% off often. And craft type store should have them, Joann’s Michael’s I bet even target has some.

You can use silica gel. I read an article that you keep the flowers in the sand for a couple of weeks and then take them out and dust them off. Im planning to do this after my wedding and then putting them in a shadow box.

Thanks! I googled bouquet preservation and found someone near me who does this. I then checked out her reviews on Yelp and liked what I read and the real pictures reviewers posted.

With my first wedding I pressed the flowers from my bouquet and mounted them into my wedding album. They were still in good shape 13 years later when I burned it.

I never planned to preserve my bouquet until after my wedding and saw how gorgeous my bouquet was. I didn't even find the preservation place until a week after my wedding and then it took another week before I could get my bouquet to her. It was almost too late. But when I called her to discuss what I wanted that first week and made the appointment for the following week she gave me some great tips for keeping my bouquet as fresh as possible until I could see her. She said cut about a quarter inch off the stems and put in fresh water, put a white trash bag over the entire thing and keep in the fridge. My bouquet consisted of some fragile flowers including peonies and roses but her method worked as you can see that my peonies made it in the display! Don't wait any longer though if you can help it. This way you have a better chance of your flowers looking their best when preserved.

I hung mine upside down (and his boutonniere as well) in the spare bathroom and let the flowers dry and then put it in a shadow box from Hobby Lobby (his flower sits at the bottom of the box). We have it hanging in the guest room. I had peace roses and Gerbera daisies - the daisies didn't do so well, they had to be cut out, but I still have the roses.

We also had fans out for people to use (outdoor wedding, in July, in Alabama) and we kept some leftover ones, and I have them in a vase in our powder room.
