Preserving Your Wedding Cake To Eat It On Your One Year Anniversary?

Preserving the top tier of your wedding cake and eating it on your first anniversary is becoming more and more popular. After much thought and consideration, my husband and I decided to do it. Are you preserving your wedding cake for your one year anniversary? Why or why not?

I think I'll buy a fresh way as well, just in case the frozen one is gross.

My husband and I went back to work for about 2 and a half weeks after we got married. Then we had our honeymoon for a week.

We didn't because the bakery we used remakes the top tier for you on your anniversary! We're so excited!

No but some bakeries will give you a small cake on the day of your anniversary. Our cake includes the anniversary cake which is just plain vanilla cake with buttercream frosting so I would just ask the bakery.

We’re not saving the top because our baker is making a separate 6” cake for us to freeze for our one year anniversary. Our 1 year anniversary cake is chocolate fudge (which will be one of the layers on the groom’s cake)!

I honestly have not even thought about it. I’m thinking we won’t do this though, just because I’m not too sure about year old cake. lol Although, I will ask my FH his thoughts and go from there.
