I'm assuming it would depend on the church, I'm sure different churches charge different amounts. Did you have one in mind you could reach out to?

My parish charges $375 for the church ($675 for non-parishioners); $10 each for 2 servers; and $200 for music. We also had to pay for a couple parts of our marriage preparation, including the FOCCUS survey ($15) and an introductory course on natural family planning ($40). I would check with the parish you are considering for specifics.

My parish charges nothing although they do ask that you pay the organist, cantor, and anybody else who you need to be at the ceremony.

My church charged $250 but then the church my cousin got married at charged him $1,000. So just depends.

It depend on if you're members or not. We had to give a mandatory "donation" to the church because we weren't members and all of our music was priced by the music director - the church board did not dictate that. We didn't need servers. Just ask the church.

Depends on your church. I suggest contacting the church you are interested in and asking them. It may also depend on whether or not you are a member.

It depends on the church. My family pressured me to meet with a priest and they estimated it would be between $1,000-$1,500 “gift” just for the ceremony. I’m pretty sure it varies by region and the actual church. My uncle got married in a landmark-level church (very ornate) and the minimum gift was $3k.

We got married in a Methodist church and this was our price breakdown:

Premarital Counseling Course - $110.00** (this was 8 hours with licensed counselors/MFTs, not pastoral counseling)

Use of Chapel - $400.00 (Offerings and tithes of the couple or their parents from a year prior to the receipt of the signed contract are applied to this fee, up to $400.00)

    Services of pastor - $300.00

    Musician (Instrumental only) - $175.00

    Wedding Coordinator - $175.00

Custodial Services (Rehearsal and Wedding) - $50.00

    Audio Technician - $100.00

    Total - $1,360.00

It is free unless you want someone to sing or play music, just like it would be anywhere else. To be married in the Catholic Church is free and if you don’t want to spend any money you can chose to have just the ceremony with no music and you can even just have the guests sing with no instruments. It would be beautiful!

It depends on the parish. I looked into the one my grandma goes to because the priest will do weddings for non members and it was ridiculously overpriced even for parishioners. $100 fee for counseling, $500 fee for chapel, $200 for organist, $250 for priest, $100 fee for janitors, $150 for rehearsal.

Heck, even at my own church I was side-eyeing their fees.

    $100 sanctuary usage

$250 for use of the community rooms

$100 wedding coordinator if we asked the pastor to officiate

I was able to talk to our executive pastor, though, and they're waiving the sanctuary usage fee for us if we don't decorate. I said fine lol

Agree with PP that it just depends. Our church is charging us $300 and if you want music for the ceremony it’s a donation of your choice.

It all depends on the church. My BIL wanted to get married in the Catholic Church he grew up in. My sister, who was not raised Catholic, had to jump through all kinds of hoops to be allowed to marry in the church, and pay for all kinds of classes and counseling. Two weeks before the wedding the church tried to cancel on them because she wasn’t Catholic. Her in laws worked it out with them, for a large undisclosed amount of money. My first marriage was in a Methodist church for about $200 including the organist. Bottom line is you’re going to have to contact the church your interested in and ask specifically for what you want and the costs.

My whole wedding was $3000!!! Yowser!!!! I bet it was beautiful, though! A beautiful Catholic church near me charges $1000. It is called an "offering" but......yeah. I looked up another one and the fee is $1500 for members and $2000 for non members. Melanie, ask your parish or the parish you wish to wed in.

Contact the church's rectory to inquire. Pricing varies everywhere you go. In my situation, because my parents are registered parishioners at this particular church, we get a "discount" if you will. Saved us about $500. I've seen some steep prices! They also call it a "donation" but it's mandatory... that one made me chuckle.

It depends on the church and if you are a parishioner. My fiance and I just went through this whole ordeal a few months ago. We were both raised Catholic and have gone to church regularly, but never registered anywhere. Most places want you to be a registered, active parishioner for at least 6 months prior to setting a wedding date. If you know a church you want to get married at, I would call them and ask to sit down and meet with them. They'll give you prices, but it will be anywhere from $500 - $1500.

Mine is $500 for parishioners, but $1000 for non parishioners. I live about 30 minutes outside of Chicago. I was looking into churches in the city and they often are $2,000+

This varies! The highest we encountered was $2,500 to get married in a downtown cathedral. We went with a church that is $900 for everything. However you usually have to be parishioners there for at least 6 months before you can set a wedding date!

I agree it depends on the parish. Ours is only a donation for the pastor's time (we are giving $100). Our pianist is a friend so shes gifting us that. $35 for our pre-marriage class.
