Price range?

Justine, on March 18, 2018 at 11:45 PM Posted in Registry 1 14
What's the lowest price item I should have on my registry? What's the highest? Should I have multiple versions or brands of the same item? I am using wayfair.com. Does anyone have experience with them? I want to becfair to everyone and their budgets, but I also don't want to sell us short either. How much do people usually spend for a gift? 😊

I've seen everything from towels and kitchen gadgets ($10 a piece) to Kitchen Aid mixers and everything in between. It's nice to have a few bigger ticket items because sometimes people can go in on stuff together. If you're looking for low budget items, other suggestions would be things like maybe some board games or your favorite movies that you don't have yet.

I just tried to have a variety in most price points. The under $30 items all got bought up super quickly so I've added a few more on. I don't think there's a max. I put a $400 vacuum on mine because I wanted to buy it myself with the completion discount and it was the first gift I got!

We did a lot of board games! I'm kind of exited for the completion discount so we can get our dream board games...

We're also a big board game couple though!

We had everything from $5-$300, and received gifts from both ends of the spectrum. We kept almost everything under $50, knowing that people could then buy more than one thing if they wanted to.

Do not put multiple versions or brands of the same item. The purpose is not to get duplicates.

I have things like spatulas and ladles that are like $5-$7, a grill that's like $300, and everything in between. I'd say most of it is in the $25-$60 range. And, like others said, I added stuff that we'll buy with a discount if no one buys them for us.

I have napkin rings on mine that are less than $2.50 and added some all-clad pans that are over $300. The vast majority of our gifts are <$60, with a few 'big ticket' items for our older relatives who may want to get us something nicer. The really inexpensive items are important because a some people may want to do a group gift, or put together some kind of gift basket with a bunch of kitchen utensils or something.

Daughter has items from $4 wine stoppers to a $300 Kitchenaid mixer and a $400 8-place setting of her china. The china was the first item purchased, and the mixer was second or third.... Who knew!?!?? (The wine stoppers were purchased yesterday! Smiley winking ) She'll likely add a vacuum and some other items. (In total, between Macy's and Kohl's she started out with about 80 items -- including the china set as just one item. The vast majority are in the $15-50 range, before coupons and discounts.)

We have items ranging from $5-$220. The $5 items are things that people would buy with another item, like wine glasses. We kind of just considered who we were inviting. We have some family members that do pretty well would be totally fine purchasing something over $100, but then we have a lot of family members and friends that would definitely couldn't spend over $50 on a gift. We already live together so we didn't need many expensive appliances or anything like that so most of our items are $20-$50 with just a few that are over $100

My lowest item was 4 bucks and the highest is 100. It depends on your crowd.

We put like spatulas and measuring cups and little things on there for anyone who might not have a lot to work with! Do we need another spatula or measuring cup? Not at all, but I wanted to have price points under 5$ for those who might be struggling

I think our highest priced item is in the $400 range and it's a high end knife set. Lowest is probably a couple bucks for a kitchen item like a spoon or something. When we were registering at Crate and Barrel the lady helping us said they typically see friends spend about $100 on a wedding gift and family spends $200-400. Don't know if that's 100% accurate but it gives you an idea of a range. I like the idea of having gifts at all price points so everyone has options.

I was very money cautious. The girl kept trying to talk me in to expensive stuff and I would not budge. think cheapest is like $7.99 and most expensive is my luggage which varies
